“A veritable island of serenity in a sea of tranquillity”

The newly renovated Sawo apartments exceeded my already high expectations of Murnis Houses. The grounds are green and cool and tidy. The Houses are walking distance to almost everything in Ubud. 'Murni's big breakfast' was served in the veranda dining area and was very conducive to conversation. The service was warm and personalised. A veritable 'island' of serenity in a cool, calm sea of tranquillity.
I'm very happy that you enjoyed our new Sawo Apartments so much. They are not renovated but brand new,. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us. We are indeed lucky to be convenient to everything but in a serene place, Delighted that you liked the breakfasts too. Murni

Service was excellent , nothing was too much trouble. The home was beautifully furnished. I have stayed in other houses at murnis all of which are a high standard. The houses are situated off the Main Street and are set amongst traditional Balinese gardens with water features everywhere. It's always like staying with family when you stay at the houses. The only negative was that the new houses feel a little closed in ( no big verandah like the others). But this is because they have ac.
Thank you for staying with us again. I'm glad that the service was excellent and the place is beautiful, and especially that it's like staying with family. The apartment has 2 verandahs - one for each bedroom. We're looking forward to seeing you again. Murni

“Tranquil setting, beautiful people”

Two qute fussy adults, two kids age 15 and 9 all stayed at Murni's in Ubud for 2 weeks and we loved it. The people at Murni's are delightful: all incredibly friendly and helpful, always kind and smiling.
Step into this peaceful setting in beautifully maintained gardens and you forget that the main street is just over the wall. Tamarind Spa is onsite and we had many treatments from the menu, all fantastic (but ask them for a gentle massage if you're sensitive!)
Comfortable, well appointed, clean, good value accommodation. We have tried the 2 bedroom apartments and the house at Murni's all of which we would recommend for different reasons. If you prefer creature comforts and a more modern setting, go for the apartments.
Excellent central base - within walking distance to everything that central Ubud has to offer, as well as being a short drive to attractions such as Bali Zoo, elephant safari and white water rafting. Only an hour to Sanur etc. Murni's is a great place to stay in the wonderful area of Ubud.
We were very sad to leave and we plan to return soon.
Thank you for staying and we would love to see you again - even if you are fussy! I'm delighted that you enjoyed it so much - including Tamarind Spa. Hope to see you soon. Murni
“Serenity in the heart of Ubud action”

After staying 5 nights at Murni's Villas we decided we'd see whether there was any space available at Murni's Houses located right in the lively Balinese art center of Ubud. Murni's Houses was a charming choice--right in town but off the main road and so quiet (for the countryside). Murni's Houses consists of a number of buildings built in typical Balinese style. Ours was in probably the newest building. It had a main room with a small kitchen and two bedrooms both with a balcony overlooking the Campuhan Valley. Breakfast was served in a charming bale each morning with a choice of Western or Indonesian cuisines. Staff was helpful and friendly.
would definitely stay here again if I was in Ubud.
Thank you for staying with us - at Murni's Villas as well as Murni's Houses in our new Sawo Apartment. I'm very pleased that you liked it and will definitely stay again. We're looking forward to seeing you again. Murni

“Peace and Bliss”

We wanted somewhere fairly central and would accommodate an elderly traveler, be quiet and blissful but a bit more homely and comfortable than a hotel room. We usually stay in Jalan Bisma and have simple rooms however Murni's Houses allowed us to have relaxing days after lots of active days and be somewhere you could feel at home. Not right in the heart of town but that meant where we were was quiet, calm and close enough to temples and restaurants to keep us happy.
The house was so well furnished and appointed with a wonderful library, comfortable bedroom with ensuites and a lovely lounge area. The only recommendation would be to have a few plates and knives and forks so we could make a sandwich on some days. That being said all requests and enquiries were easily catered for and the ambiance created by the staff was so friendly and warm. Little touches like sitting on the balcony and serenaded by a local musician were wonderful surprising delights.
We hired a recommended driver and whilst a comprehensive tour would have liked a bit more of a guide rather than a driver. Comprehensive recommendations and tours are to be had that even though we extended our stay we still didn't fit in all we wanted. Next time.
Delivery from the sister restaurant was super quick and wonderful. Breakfast was amazing and kept us going most of the day.
Not for the budget traveler but if you want a homely base for more than a couple of days, a great hospitable place to be. A lovely ambiance and you step into the area and feel relaxed, calm and whilst serene still connected to the area and Ubud.
I'm very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our new Sawo Apartment 2 and that it was comfortable, well furnished and relaxing. We've added more plates and knives and forks! I'm delighted that the food from my restaurant Murni's Warung was wonderful and the breakfasts were amazing. I hope you can come back soon. Murni
“Always the best hotel in Ubud”

I know this place since 20 years ago, and it did not change a bit: a beautiful and peaceful place, in what is now the center of Ubud.
The service is the best and their drivers have always been reliable.
Thank you for your review and staying with us again. I'm very pleased that it's beautiful and peaceful and convenient in the centre of Ubud. I'm delighted that you were able to stay in our new Sawo Apartment 2 within the Murni's Houses compound. And great that you liked the drivers too. I hope that you can come back again. Murni
