Retrace Julia Roberts' steps in the actual area where her movie Eat, Pray, Love was filmed. There is a reason why this particular area was selected for the movie and we are the only property with such an expansive view and actually set in these same rice fields.
Nestled in the quiet very traditional village of Junjungan, 4 kms from central Ubud, Anita's Ubud Villa is a breezy refuge and a tranquil reprieve from the crowded hurried streets of Ubud, yet so conveniently close if in need of a diversion. Only 10 minutes by car or motorbike, Ubud is easily accessible for sampling great restaurants, international cuisine and unique local art, crafts and culture.
Leisurely strolls in this very safe and peaceful village can be very enjoyable and it's also the best way to experience the culture and day to day life. Small local variety stores are nearby but a trip into Ubud is best by motorbike or automobile.
Just sit back and simply enjoy the 180 degree view of the working rice fields.
Here in the most desirable Betunyung/Junjungan, you will get in touch with nature, time will slow down and you'll experience true traditional uncommercialized rural Balinese lifestyle and culture. You will witness most locals in traditional Balinese clothing, children and villagers bathing in the river, washing laundry, artisans honing their skills and local farmers tending to the rice paddies directly in front of your terrace.
Shhhhh.... Say nothing, do nothing, sit back, be still, listen, and take in the peaceful atmosphere, the solitude, the brilliant sunset, the tranquility of the passing night, the wide open sky, the stars revealing themselves, the flicker of dancing fireflies over the paddies, nature's synchronized evening orchestra of melodious singing crickets, the sound of birds and dancing frogs, the trickling of the water flows, the chimes, gongs, tiembe drums and the chanting of Ashram music echoing from the jungle's darkness as you share the gentle balmy breezes with the swaying palms and rice fields and you will sense the energy and your immersion into the Balinese culture that will make this a most enchanting and memorable experience.

We stayed at this beautiful Anita's cottage for 3 weeks and each day we felt that we are blessed with the magical ambience of this place! Just 4km north of Ubud, the area is as close to nature as it can be! Surrounded by rice fields and palm trees, quiet and pieceful - no wonder they chose this spot for Eat Pray Love movie! The house has spacious room, comfortable bed, large bathroom with bathtub and outdoor kitchen with nice dining area. Kitchen is well equipped and we used it a lot for cooking our favorite meals. Overall, cottage is very comfortable for 2 ppl. Many temples around, some have local performances in the evening. Some good shops, laundry, cafes are around. Cleaning can be arranged with lovely local family: clean, cut grass, bring offerings ;) Whenever we needed help - we got it fast! 3 weeks went very fast. We woul love to stay again!
