Thank you so much Barbara, Henry and Pia, for a wonderful stay in your wee bungalow. At a stressful time in our lives, your bungalow, the surroundings of Ubud and Bali itself, provided a much needed respite. Your recommendations of the lovely driver "Blue" and the local eating spots were ideal. Loved the outdoor shower, and everything we needed was provided for. Wine glasses in the bungalow would be helpful but we did have access to them in the larger house, so not really a problem. very comfortable bed and great breakfasts each day. Hope we can return some day.

Henry's and Barbara's standalone unit - the Jepun House had an outdoor rainshower and a huge stone tub which their 2nd floor bedroom didn't so this was a treat we couldn't refuse when we realised it was available. Showering under the stars is a marvelous experience. Being a tat squeamish, I really liked it that their plants with all their fauna and exotica stayed on the other side of the walls so I could soak in the huge stone tub without worrying about wildlife joining me.
With its own fridge, a standalone water cooler, a kettle jug, as well as coffees and teas, we didn't need to keep bothering Henry and Barbara for a teaspoon or a plate even though they made their house and its amenities available to us! Every conversation we started was towards our own ends but every conversation they started was whether we were okay or if we needed anything at all! You couldn't ask for better hosts!
All in all, we got our privacy, were totally totally relaxed and so happy because Henry and Barbara and Pia (their housekeeper) made sure we had everything we could possibly want. The bungalow was super clean and well looked after. If they were to be listed on Tripadvisor, they would surely be ranked No 1. You can't possibly go wrong booking your stay here!

This accommodation is a must if you want to stay in Ubud. The Bungalow was an idyllic little home from home and we would definitely recommend it to anyone. The gardens and pool were beautiful in fact considering the property is only a 5 minute walk to the main road we could hear nothing but the trickle of the fountains and whistling of birds. Breakfast was always sensational, home made by the delightful Pia. Barbara and Henry were wonderful hosts and helpful in every way they could be. A fully stocked Bintang Supermarket close by so no problems stocking up the fridge with food or those famous Bintang beers!
Not suitable for families with very young children in pushchairs, elderly or disabled however due to steep steps and broken pathways you have to navigate to get to the premises from the main road.

My original plans changed and I ended up coming to bali with my daughter daisy. our time in Ubud at barbaras place was the absolute hi-light. We thought we were 2 princesses in our own little palace in the rice paddies! We spent 3 nights in the cottage and absolutely everything was perfect; the gorgeous decor, the comfortable bedding and furniture, the garden and surrounds a delight. And of course the breskfast! Pia is an absolute treasure, the best in Bali!
We will never forget our blussful stay at bungalow Jepun.
