Response from the owner After making reservations, the guests subsequently changed their dates which conflicted with a checkout in the suite booked. I was able to place the guests in the adjacent (side by side), top floor one bedroom luxury suite facing the harbour. See guests comments: “Just wanted to let you know we are ensconced in your home and love it! It is spotless, well organized, and well equipped, the art (especially the Ted Harrison as we met him at the “Painters as “painters” event in Campbell River several times), the Haida themed décor (we’ve done that on our boat too), the tiles around the fireplace…,etc. etc. I’ve put our citrus on the white tray and it looks lovely on the bar between the kitchen and living room. Even though we’ve been here a very short it feels at home already and we are looking forward to our next few days – and our next visit here. Thank you for your care and attention to making this a lovely place! We will take very good care of it!” I was late in replying to the door lock issue. Upon reaching the guests, they indicated that they managed to fix the door by themselves. Nonetheless I had the building manager check the situation within 30 minutes of the phone call. According to the manager, the guests were relatively understanding about the malfunctioning lock and commented that they were enjoying their stay. Extreme west coast weather caused some leakage on the morning of their departure. I replied to guests in 90 minutes and told them I would send the building manager over. The manager was there at check out to deal with the leakage. The guests had already departed. I corresponded with the guests during their stay and had offered an additional night’s accommodation free of charge for the inconvenience of the door lock situation. Their schedule did not allow for an extended stay and in return I refunded them $100.00. All correspondence including the request to switch dates were replied and dealt with in a professional and expeditious manner.
