Description

The Old School Apartment is part of a renovated building - which was the original Lower school site. The property is located just minutes from the centre of Ulverstons market town, where every Thursday there is a busy open market. Hoad monument is just a few minutes walk away and this replica of the Third Eddystone Lighthouse is now open to the public and at the top, eight apertures provide a magnificent 360-degree panorama of the Furness Peninsula, Morecambe Bay and the southern Lake District.

Situated near the start of the Cumbrian Way, there is fantastic hill and coastal walking/mountain biking right from the doorstep, with Coniston Old Man only a short drive away. South Lakeland is full of wonderful family attractions such as the South Lakeland Zoo, Holker Hall and Grizedale Forrest. Haverthwaite steam railway is a lovely way of visiting Lake Windermere - where the ferry can be boarded to Ambleside.

The Apartment is on the ground floor so ideal for buggies or anyone with mobility problems..

We do accept pets - but this is only with prior arrangement.

There is parking available for 2 cars. There are shared lawn gardens with an enclosed childrens play area for young children.

Ford Park is situated very close by and has an adventure playground for older children. It also has a sensory walk and lovely coffee shop situated in the old stable block.

Getting around

Bus services operate around Ulverston town center to the surrounding villages and housing estates. Ulverston is accessible by car via the A590 road, which branches off the M6 motorway and continues towards Barrow-in-Furness. The town is served by a train station on a branch line which runs through to the West Coast Main Line; visitors can get direct train connections from Preston and Manchester.

The Apartment is also our Holiday home, so we are not on site - however if you require any advice or support during your stay I am always available to speak to. Once you have secure your booking we will give you details of how to obtain the Keys.

House rules

Well behaved pets are very welcome, however we do ask for an extra £10.00 to cover the cleaning costs.

Please do not allow Pets on any of the furniture or beds.

Please be considerate to other tenants and clean up after your pet in the communal gardens.

Pleasant, refreshing ground floor apartment, with good parking and easy access to local shops, surrounding towns and tourist attractions, as well as lakes, beaches and hills.

“Disappointing”

I have stayed in Ulverston many times and in 6 different properties, some of those several times. Some have been better than others but all extremely comfortable and clean - until this time. I have sent an email to the owner so wont go into more detail here except to say a professional clean is needed. I left early.

“Excellent location”

We spent a very good week at the Old School Apartment. The location was excellent, the town of Ulverston on the doorstep with the Barrow Monument on Hoad Hill just a few minutes walk away. Excellent selection of pubs in the town. Good road links into the Lake District National Park. Enjoyed the week.

Excellent accommodation for myself, my daughter and my twin 2 year old granddaughers, who loved the play area just outside3 the apartment. Definitely recommend to anyone else.
