Review #4627412 Fantastic Villa Our family spent two unforgettable weeks in late July and early august at Calicaribe, celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, We can't say enough about Calicaribe. We loved the villa -- its layout and tasteful decor. The views of St Thomas, other islands, and Cruz Bay from the property, especially the guest house and the pool area, are breathtaking. Although the heat and humidity were high during the peak hours of each day, temperatures and humidity lowered late in the afternoon so that we could enjoy wine and cheese and the view, including spectacular sunsets, on the patio and dinner on the verandah. Pictures of the property on various websites don't do it justice. Calicaribe is much better than we expected. It is clean and very well maintained. Calicaribe is blessed with an excellent local property manager, Steve Black, who has lived in Cruz Bay for 25 years and is a constructive civic activist. Whenever we needed anything, Steve was prompt in his response. St John is truly paradise. We were fortunate to have a rental jeep to get around the island and to have our daughter and her partner do all the driving. The roads are challenging because the island is very hilly and the roads have very sharp turns, which means that one does not need to worry about exceeding the 20 mph speed limit. Opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving abound. The beaches (St John has 39 of them) are beautiful. We swam at four of them: Trunk Bay, Little Lameshur Bay, Hawksnest Bay, and Maho Bay. We ate out only three times because my daughter's partner loves to cook, and having dinner on the verandah was a pleasant experience. The Fish Trap and Zozo's are excellent restaurants in Cruz Bay, although the latter may be too expensive for some folks. We highly recommend a sojourn at Calicaribe. You'll get plenty of bang for your bucks.

“A DREAM COME TRUE” My stay at the Taj was one of the most memorable vacations.Given the areas relaxed atmosphere,waking up each morning to the blue sea,watching ships go by,followed by a swim on the beach.ST.Thomas with its unique culture was very inviting as I enjoyed the music and dance performances down town each thursday.Restaurants provided meals not to be forgotten served by some of the friendliest people I have come across. Back at the Taj,some evenings were spent dinning outside taking in beautiful sunsets .Outside of St.Thomas I ventured to St.Johns and St.Croix places that added to my appreciation of the Virgin islands as a destination to enjoy the simple and yet important aspects of life.

“Nice and tranquil” The apartment was clean, comfortable. The close beach is right behind the condo which was something I loved. The supermarkets are close by, and if you wanted fast foods they were just across the street. Also if you needed the bus was right in front or if you needed a cab always one around. The hotels all walking distant to go dance or eat. I felt safe. 24 hour security great. All in all I would recommend to stay here. I will be coming again.

“Can't wait to go back!” We loved Villa Mar de amores from the moment we got there. Amazing views, great vibes, lovely decorations, high ceilings, comfy beds, great kitchen, just perfect. It's even nicer than the pictures. We all started smiling when we climbed to the top of the hill in our Jeep. Perfect amount of space for the five of us. Could sit on that deck any time of day and be totally entranced. The owner is great, and the on island managers were also great. We booked the house again for next year before we left!

“Heaven on earth” I want to thank the owner Thursten Cook for another wonderful week at South Sound. The property is located on a private cove with breathtaking views of the Ocean. The property was in great shape with a new refrigerator and a new boat. It is difficult to put into words the feeling of falling asleep at night and hearing the roar of the ocean. As this is our second time at the Villa we are starting to get to know all the citizens. The people on the Island go out of their way to make you feel confortable. “Great place and great value.” This was a nice little place to stay I had no complaints at all with the owner and manager. Monty was good to deal with on the phone I never did meet him but always answered all my questions. Phil (site manager) was great to deal with too. They were both very helpful and prompt when communicating with me. The place was clean and everything in the kitchen worked great. The beds were comfortable. One night the power did go out for about 10 minutes but that was no fault of the owner it just happens in PR sometimes I guess. Like I said it was very quick and came right back on. The backyard is nice and the neighborhood seams quite and safe. One thing about the location though it is very close to the airport and right in one of the flight paths. You can see the location when booking it so that is what I expected and not a knock on the owner. Overall this was definitely a great place to stay and an awesome value! My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay here and had a great time in PR. Thanks Monty and Phil!

“Great Villa, Fantastic View” My wife and I, and another couple, thought the stay at Casa Ella was fantastic. Maria, the property manager, greeted us at the Ferry dock when we arrived. She gave us a tour of the town, in her car, and then off to the grocery store to purchase some groceries. She then showed us around the villa, answered all our questions and made us promise to call if we needed anything. The kitchen was well supplied with some food staples and all sorts of utensils. The villa was clean and well maintained. The off street parking for the rental car was a plus. The view and location was fantastic. Close to the downtown area and beaches.The patio provided awesome views of the bay and the electric grill was great for evening meals. The washer and dryer was a real benefit as we could have gotten away with a lot less clothing. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off snorkeling gear and the beach sand before entering the villa. The villa also had four beach chairs, a cooler and beach towels available. Maria and Glen also provided transportation to the dock when we left for home. They are very wonderful people that made the whole adventure special.

“Fabulous location!” Excellent Old San Juan location near everything cultural, historical and restaurants! Loved being surrounded by the beautiful Spanish styled homes, cobbled streets and our host was helpful and engaging. Our patio was a true delight, a nice quiet place in the middle of Old San Juan!
