Welcome to my personal favorite property, Casa Flor.
If you are looking to escape from what has become your everyday, then this is the place to be. The surroundings for this property are simply breathtaking. The beauty and simplicity of being here is absolutely captivating, just take a deep breath and start to destress.
This is a BEAUTIFUL modern home that will comfortably accommodate 9- very fortunate guests. Just like all of the other homes, this one has a well equipped kitchen a beautiful deck overlooking nature at its best with sitting areas and hammocks.
In the two very spacious bedrooms, Bedroom-1 has a Queen sized bed and a Bunk bed that sleeps two, and Bedroom-2 has a Queen sized bed and a Bunk bed that sleeps 3. This home has 1 full sized bathroom with great hot water!
We also have a ¼ acre walking trail that leads you to the most picturesque part of the property where you will find a delightful tire swing, an awesome and intricate tree to climb and more outside sitting areas to take in the awe inspiring landscape while breathing the clean, crisp, enticing air! Efrain is also working on a trail down to a small creek which will add to all this excitement!
Last but surely not least, you have Efrain and Gira. This lovely husband and wife team will be the ones hosting your stay. If you decide to order any of our Authentic Puerto Rican meals, Gira will be your cook as well. We usually have the hosts deliver meals right to your door, but with Efrain and Gira it's a little different. They like to welcome you into their home (next door) and serve you at their table as if you were a part of the family; talk about culture!
This is truly an all around amazing experience that we are sure you will love!!!
Many of our homes have hammocks, a grill, and all have basic cookware for you to use. We do need to know the exact amount of people and rooms you will use during your time with us as we lock rooms that are not in use. Since our prices are very modest, if your home has a washer and dryer we do not allow the use of these for stays under 7 days. Many of the homes have fruit trees and you are welcome to pick the fruit but be courteous to future guests.
Interaction with Guests
We have many family and friends helping us to make your stay a memorable one. They clean the homes before you arrive, cook meals when requested, and truly help create the “culture” of your home when you need something. Adam and I (Cathy) are not usually in town, but we'd love meeting and spending time with you when we are. We are always a text or call away!
Other Things to Note
This is where the fun begins!!!
We encourage you to take a minute and read over our Activity Chart that will be sent to you by my lovely niece Katryel shortly after booking. This document was made to help you plan your ideal vacation, by providing you with A Few Days Worth of Things To Do and places to visit in and around the area. This document also offers information on how you can order authentic Puerto Rican meals that are delivered right to your door, and ways to book any one of the unforgettable Eco- Friendly Tours (hosted by local adventure companies) and information about the places locals like to go so that you can really get a taste of our rich & diverse culture.
Both the Ponce and San Juan Airports are 1.5 hours away. Aguadilla is 1 hour away.
We treat you with lots of respect and care so we expect the same back. You will enjoy your stay and the home but remember it is our home so please inform us of anything pertinent.
-Do not smoke anywhere inside the house.
-Keep it as clean as possible inside and out.
-No pets in the property at any time, and if you see strays outside, we ask that you don't feed them as they will never leave and we want to keep the homes clean and allergen free.
-Please do not move our furniture but if you feel the need to, put stuff back as some of our staff are petite.
-We do not allow parties, events &/or unregistered guests or visitors (including locals) without our permission.
-Some of these properties are ours and several are owned by individuals (many elderly) that have trusted us to share their homes with the world using our management and marketing systems. We only work with people who also want you to explore and experience some of our rich and diverse culture. Since many of these owners are elderly and all the homes are in residential areas, I encourage you NOT to book with us if you are not lovely, clean, honest and respectable.
We are honored you are considering us to help “host a life-time of memories”!!!
Casa Flor - Mountain Top (1-9) Utuado, Puerto Rico
Additional Location Information
Our neighborhood is just that; A community of people coming together looking out for one another, and very open to welcoming travelers from all around the world. Many of the locals that you'll meet in this this area don't travel much, so it is just as exciting for them to meet you as it is for you to meet them. Everyone I know is very giving, loving, genuine and humble, which is one of the many things that makes you fall in love with our beautiful island. I grew up in these lovely mountains with these amazing people, and It's an honor and a privilege for us to share this part of the Island with you.
You will need to rent a car as there is no public transit up in the mountains. Once you book with us, Katryel sends you a welcome letter w/ written directions, GPS coordinates and extras. The extras is a long list of many things to do in and around the area including local spots to enjoy. All of the roads are paved so any car is fine. The most you'll find is some pot holes but you can drive through or around them slowly and be ok. We usually suggest renting for Dollar Car Rental (Verdanza Hotel Branch) or any other MAJOR car rental company. If you are on an unpaved road, you are lost! :)
Both the Ponce and San Juan Airports are 1.5 hours away. Aguadilla is 1 hour away.
Under 15 minutes from the home you have a small supermarket, post office, pharmacy, two bakeries a gas station and several restaurants. There is an awesome sports pub with a great owner in Lares (the next small town over), and we even have a small computer, internet & copy center in front of the local super market!
You can stop in Utuado or Lares for larger grocery stores or a redbox DVD before heading up into the town.

What an awesome, awesome place !! Lost in the mountain near Utuado, this house was gorgeous. Although we were too, you could easily fit way more inside, we alsmot felt lost ! Seriously, it has everything you need, including a lovely balcony with hammocks overlooking the valleys. It is surrounded by fruit trees, and we really felt special staying there !

This place is a gem. The Central mountains was my favorite part of PR and night at this place a great experience. The place is set in the Cordillera countryside. The views are spectacular. It was very easy to find the place thanks to adam's detailed directions. The room and bathroom were clean. As many reviewers have mentioned - the roosters are there. But IMO that's part of the countryside charm. The dogs - Brownie and Bella are a delight. Hector who stays at the property is a great guy. He will go with you on hikes and recommend to you things to do around that area which you may not find in any guidebook. He told me about a spot where I could bathe in the river and it was a great experience. Adam is the best host ever. I decided to stay another night in the area but since his place was booked he helped me find another place !! He spent a lot of time over phone with me recommending bunch of places to do when in PR. I took his recommendations for beaches in PR and was delighted. This is a great place to spend many nights and unwind.

Casa Flor is a little piece of paradise tucked away on a mountain top. The house and location were both absolutely gorgeous and exceeded all our expectations. The house is located in a remote area that takes some time to find, but adam was very helpful and gave great directions. As the house in in the mountains, it is a great place for outdoorsy people, with beautiful hikes and caves nearby. One of our favorite things about this place was the large deck with hammocks and a view of the forest canopy. All in all, a wonderful place!
