Valletta G-House - historic holiday rental for two Valletta, Island of Malta, Malta
Additional Location Information
A holiday in Malta can take many guises. Visitors come here for the history, the archaeology, the friendly locals, the Mediterranean cuisine, the winter sun and the sea. Some come out of interest for ecclesiastic art, the excellent examples of baroque architecture and to see for themselves some of the oldest prehistoric temples. Others have heard that it's great for diving and sailing.
Staying in “the city built by gentlemen for gentlemen” adds value to the equation, making the experience one to remember. Away from the usual tourist resorts, Valletta G-House is in the heart of the city's life and history. Valletta itself is built on a human scale, clustered in a tight grid of narrow streets behind grand fortifications. With its baroque architecture and floodlit bastions, numerous beautiful churches, palaces and lively people, it is a delightful city. Its slightly faded glory and its Grand Harbour are memorable (do take the water taxi view the high fortifications from the sea. Everything is within walking distance and, as we all know, there is no better way to see and experience the city than on foot.
Plenty of small restaurants and cafes, a historic theatre and an open air one, cinema and plenty museums close by.

The booking of the G-house was easy and done via telephone and internet without seeing the owner at all. We were greeted by Victor at the airport in Malta and taken to this lovely house in the middle of local living in Valletta and informed of everything about the house and Malta itself. We enjoyed being right in the middle of Valetta living. The house was a wonderful experience with it's 16 century feel, very comfortable bedroom with lots of space, low ceiling kitchen at the bottom but very adequate. If you are here to watch TV then you may not want the G-House. If you are here to enjoy the city and all it has to offer and come home afterward and relax in a comfortable setting then there is no better place than the G-house. Great location, near amenities, right around the corner. Close to the sea and the centre of town. We were here in May and it was hot. The only thing we missed with this place was having a pool to sit by and relax on a day or two of our visit but we knew going in that there was no pool and that was not the type of trip we were looking for. So if you want to live amongst the locals, near everything, in a comfortable 16th century setting with beautiful decorations at a very reasonable cost then I strongly suggest staying here at the G-house. It is not just a place to stay in Malta it is a way of life in Malta and it has allowed us to come as close as you can to living like an actual Maltesean and getting the real point of Valetta. Not just a place to stay rather than an experience to live and remember for a long long time. All you have to do is look at the comment book at the house and realize that everybody else had a wonderful stay here for the same reasons and more.
