A warm and welcoming apartment, directly overlooking one of the most-photographed and charming locations in Dorsoduro - the historic and very characterful Squero di San Trovaso (founded in the 17th Century and the oldest of only a tiny handful of working gondola boatyards still left in Venice today, where skilled local artisans continue to craft, maintain and repair gondolas by hand using century old methods).
Sleeping up to seven in comfort and enjoying privileged views over the junction of the Rio dei Ognissanti and the Rio de San Trovaso canals, the recently renovated Ca' Dello Squero is on the first floor and features characterful beams coupled with tasteful decoration throughout. Accommodation comprises a snug and cosy sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating, super canal views and warm, wooden flooring underfoot plus a well-equipped eat-in kitchen/dining room with tiled flooring, ample dining furniture and plenty of space.
There are three cheerfully furnished bedrooms, each with wooden flooring - a bright and airy double with canal views and its own sunny yellow bathroom with bathtub, a further pretty double with canal views and twin beds (which can be made into a double bed - simply ask when booking) and a third bedroom with two twin beds. The second bathroom, boldly decorated with crimson tiling, has a shower.
Peaceful and relaxing, the apartment is air-conditioned to allow clients a comfortable stay at any time of the year and has internet connection with cable.
One of our most popular properties - consistently well-reviewed by happy guests for both the quality of its accommodation and its superb position. Close to the Accademia Bridge/Academy of Fine Arts on the Grand Canal and within seconds of the Zattere promenade with its memorable panorama across to the island of Giudecca.
Are you part of a larger group who would like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer other apartments in this building: Ca' Dello Squero 2 and Ca' Del Rio.
Within very easy reach of the renowned ‘Cantinone Gia Schiavi - Al Bottegon’, a perfect venue for a spritz and some prize winning ‘cicheti’, ‘Lo Squero’, one of the best gelateria in the city and 'Locanda Montin', one of Venice's most famous restaurants. Close to the well-stocked Billa Supermarket on the Zattere, along which you'll also find some great dining options, including the chic over-water terrace of ‘Lineadombra’ or, for something simpler, ‘Ae Oche’ with its mind-boggling variety of eat-in or takeaway pizza.
Convenient for two vaporetto stops for easy travel around the city - the ‘Zattere’ to the south and ‘Accademia’ to the north and only one minute to the Alilaguna boat stop connecting the Zattere to Venice's Marco Polo Airport....Read more

This was my fifth stay in Venice in a ViewsonVenice apartment Ca' dello Squero is a clean, well maintained 3 bedroom apartment. The kitchen is well equipped if you intend to cook. It was stocked with a few basics, like dishwashing liquid, dishwasher soap, garbage bags. The company provides reliable service throughout. A representative meets you at the closest vaporetto stop, takes you to the apartment to familiarize you with all it has to offer. Prices have risen in the past few years, but still remain equivalent, and in some instances slightly cheaper, than a hotel for family travel of four people. In my experience the company is reliable.

Our friends had the third floor apartment and we had the first floor - both were lovely, comfortable and spacious. Wonderful location near the lagoon and surrounded by excellent restaurants. The guidebook that VoV have compiled for apartment guests is truly excellent. Rachele was so helpful, went out of her way to make sure we had a good experience.

This was our second rental with Views on Venice and we were very happy once again with our accommodations. This beautiful apartment is perfectly situated steps from the Guidecca canal and a few minutes walk to the ponte dell'accademia. The apartment was exactly as the pictures present and there are some great restaurants and wine bars within a few minutes walk. Valentina was superb, greeting us upon arrival and explaining the details & features of the apartment. We would definitely return again to this lovely and spacious apartment.

Great accommodation in our favourite part of the city.
As an extended family we particularly welcomed the en suite bathroom.
We have always received very good service and support from the Views on Venice staff and would not hesitate to contact them in the unlikely event of there being a problem.

Views On Venice could not be bettered as a rental service. Very efficient, friendly and helpful. the apartment is in a brilliant position near the academia Bridge, the Zattere and overlooking the gondola boatyard. The flat is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The
bathrooms could do with a little maintenance -
new seal on the shower door in one and replacing missing shower door in the other (a curtain is there instead) Neither of these things detract from the attractiveness of the apartment but are just a bit surprising given the overall high standard. Read more
Many thanks for your kind words and very constructive feedback - it's really pleasing to know that your choice worked out well. Just to advise that regarding the bathrooms, I've now arranged for the shower cubicle to be replaced and the seal fixed in order to bring the showering facilities right up to standard. Please accept my apologies for the interim shower curtain arrangement, I'm grateful you pointed it out and really hope it wasn't a nuisance to you at the time. Hoping we can welcome you back again soon and with our very best wishes from a warm and sunny Venezia.
Ciao e grazie

Read more

"Wonderful Venetian Holiday Apartment"

We stayed at Ca' Dello Squero for 5 wonderful days in October and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. The apartment was just as photographed and it was very conveniently located near the Zattere vaporetto. Silvia met us and escorted us to the apartment where check in was quick and easy. We had one challenge with the lock on the door but called Views on Venice after hours and they promptly resolved the issue. The apartment was very convenient to La Accademia and about a 15 minute walk to San Marco. I highly recommend Views on Venice and Ca' Dello Squero. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The apartment added so much to our visit to Venice. The location is perfect-steps from Zattere, so easy access to and from the airport--and even fewer steps from Nico's gelato. A nice residential area with canal views from our windows. We loved the kitchen and ate lunch out and about, shopped the markets and cooked a leisurely dinner. We hung out the window and waved to people in gondolas.
The apt was perfect for our family of six (including grandma and 3 grandgirls). Three bedrooms, two baths, a livingroom just right for cards and games, good internet access-everything we needed but casual enough the girls were comfortable. We had so much fun we never did find out if the televison worked.
Views on Venice was very accommodating about letting us drop off our luggage before the apartment was ready, and were helpful when we had a small medical problem.
We would definitely love to go back to Venice and to this particular apartment. It truly felt like "home".

Used Views on Venice 3 times now - excellent service, great properties. Staff are very helpful, and very good at resolving problems and organising any assistance. Excellent language skills and local knowledge. Website easy to use and accurate - what you see in the pictures is what you find on arrival. Apartment exactly suited us - warm, clean, lovely furnishings, excellent kitchen and location fantastic. Watching gondolas being built, people passing. Apartment is perfect for a family (up to 6) or two couples. Great location - quiet but very convenient to supermarket (no bridges) and transport (1 bridge to Zattere stop, and direct waterbus to airport). Walking everywhere a highlight, and this location is about 5 minutes to Accademia Bridge and Grand Canal, 10 minutes to Campo Santa Margherita, 15 minutes to Piazza San Marco, 20 minutes to Rialto Bridge. Restaurants and bars not too far away in several different directions, but enough for a quiet walk home at night. Even during Carnivale we could go to all the excitement, parades and incredible crowds in San Marco, and come home to peace and quiet. We walked to San Marco or went by vaporetto from Zattere stop via San Giorgio Maggiore - about 15 minutes. Vaporetti very expensive unless you buy daily/weekly passes. If staying for 3 months, imob pass is best value - 40 euros for a card without any travel credit seems very expensive, but 28 euros for unlimited lagoon travel for a calendar month is great. Buy at beginning of month! Go to Murano, Burano, Torcello and up and down the Grand Canal as often as you want. Venice is unique, we never tire of it and apartment stays are best value and best way to experience it.
