A spacious and classic three bedroom apartment in Dorsoduro , overlooking one of the best 'calles' in Venice for well-recommended 'local' restaurants - moments to the picturesque Church and Campo San Barnaba and the Ca' Rezzonico Museum of 18th Century Art on the Grand Canal at one end, the Church of San Sebastiano (a masterpiece of Veronese paintings) and the sleepy western parishes at the other and the vibrant and flourishing Campo Santa Margherita and the Scuola Grande Dei Carmini lying in between.
Recently transformed with taste, care and attention to detail into a welcoming haven of user-friendliness and quiet Venetian elegance, the charmingly named Ca' Ai Putti (House of Cherubs) cossets six guests in peace and air-conditioned accommodation on the first floor of the property. There's a large and beautifully decorated main living/dining room where polished parquet flooring, tall wooden beamed ceilings and characterful Venetian gothic windows provide a fittingly traditional backdrop to period furnishings, ample leather seating and period-style wall coverings.
The kitchen/breakfast room is modern, freshly appointed and well-equipped while all three double bedrooms are bright and immaculately presented in expertly co-ordinated 'Rococo' style, each in different colourways and all with wooden flooring, Murano glass chandeliers, luxurious soft furnishings and attractive wall coverings - a softly romantic coral pink and ivory master bedroom with double bed, armoire and tall windows overlooking the calle to the front, a second bedroom in ivory and a sunny buttercup yellow (also with a double bed and plentiful storage) to the rear of the apartment and a third with twin beds in a restful duck egg blue, also to the rear. The two bathrooms lie next to to the yellow and blue bedrooms to the centre of the property - one with a shower and a washing machine and the other with a bathtub.
Within easy reach of the Accademia Bridge/ Academy of Fine Arts and the spectacular sunsets of the Zattere waterfront, within minutes of the Ca' Rezzonico vaporetto stop and the San Samuele Traghetto gondola ferry on the Grand Canal (with no bridges to cross in between!) and merely moments away from a fantastic assortment of great osterie/restaurants dotted along the calle - take your pick from the Friulian inspired dishes of 'Osteria San Barnaba' , the 'no fish' dishes and San Daniele ham specialities of 'La Bitta' and 'Pane, Vino e San Daniele' respectively, the seafood menus of ' Furatola' and ' Quatro Feri' (a very firm favourite!) and the mixed menus of ' Oniga' and 'Casin Dei Nobili' closer to the campo.
Also within a stone's throw of the designer-style restaurant 'Avogaria' with its Puglian influenced cuisine, 'Locanda Montin' - one of Venice's best loved restaurants and its gloriously lush garden and slightly bohemian, art-filled interior and the tiny but hugely enjoyable 'Enoteca Ai Artisti' fringing the nearby 'Toletta' Canal.DorsoduroDorsodurobest 'calles' in Venice for well-recommended 'local' restaurantsChurch and Campo San BarnabaCa' Rezzonico Museum of 18th Century ArtCa' Rezzonico Museum of 18th Century ArtGrand CanalChurch of San SebastianoChurch of San SebastianoCampo Santa MargheritaScuola Grande Dei CarminiScuola Grande Dei Carminiair-conditionedwashing machineAccademia Bridge/ Academy of Fine ArtsAcademy of Fine ArtsZattereCa' Rezzonico vaporetto stopTraghettoTraghetto'Osteria San Barnaba''La Bitta''Pane, Vino e San Daniele'Furatola'Quatro Feri'Oniga''Casin Dei Nobili''Avogaria''Locanda Montin' -'Enoteca Ai Artisti'

Close to the vaporetto station and a conmfortable walk to St Mark's Square, this apartment in the Dorsodura could be in any Italian town, except for the sights you can get to so easily. The building dates from the mid C16th . The current decor is Venetian, a bit like 'Beauty and the Beast'. The Moreno chandeliers and traditional beautifully crafted furniture make this a very atmospheric rental.
All modern comforts are provided-bathroom, washing machine, and the best air-conditioning we had in Italy. The kitchen is a joy to work in, fully equipped to deal with the super-fresh food of Rialto market or of the two nearby supermarkets.
For those who don't feel like cooking there is a restaurant next-door. The local meeting place is St Barnabas Square with a busy cafe, outstanding ice-cream and, often, entertainment.
I would definitely stay here again. Much better than a hotel, it gives a feeling of being part of the community.
Thanks to the greeters from Views on Venice who helped us fit in and find our way.

Venice is a place that we love to visit and we have found the perfect company to rent an apartment from - and the perfect apartment.
This is the second time that we have rented from Views on Venice, last year for three weeks and this year for two. Last year our apartment in San Pantalon was perfect for two people and this year Ca' Ai Putti near Campo San Barnaba was absolutely perfect for our family group of five adults.
The apartment is spacious, beautifully decorated and is furnished in a comfortable, complementary style (photos are an exact representation of how it is). The bathrooms are modern and spotless and the kitchen is well designed and well equipped. This apartment has everything that we needed for a stay in Venice.
Ca' Ai Putti is in a great location with plenty of good local shops and places to eat. It is quiet (double glazed windows) so it is easy to sleep. A beautiful apartment and we enjoyed every minute of our stay there -even though we were there during a period of very high aqua alta.
Views on Venice is a well organised, professional agency which provides excellent service and communication couldn't be easier. Staff are friendly, efficient and are always helpful.
We have always had positive experiences with Views on Venice both with the organisation and staff.
The only negative thing for us was having to leave Venice once again.
“Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Venice”

The room was very nicely decorated, and the air conditioners did a great job in the summer heat. The kitchen was small, but adequate, and the dining room table was a nice place for us all to sit and have a meal or discuss the day.
Overall, a very nice place to stay. It was away from the crazy tourist traps, but close enough that you could get there pretty easily.

Our stay at Ca' Ai Putti was delightful. The apartment is warm and inviting and easily accommodated six people. The common area is comfortably appointed and the kitchen had more than enough supplies for us to try our hand at Italian cooking. In addition the staff of Views on Venice went above and beyond in their efforts to ensure a great stay in Venice. Two of our group were delayed and Views on Venice made sure that we received a message from the delayed passengers. In addition they helped us reschedule a tour we had scheduled to a time when all 6 of us would be there. They also brought over an extra set of keys when requested. All in all it was a wonderful stay!

We were contacted and met by a staff member on arrival in Venice who showed us through the apartment and explained essential items like the system of garbage collection and the key system.
The apartment itself was lovely and very well equipped. It was in an excellent position close to the vaporetta, many lovely restaurants and in walking many of the main sights of Venice.
The only problem was that we were given only 2 sets of keys but there were 3 couples in the apartment. If a place is rented to 3 couples, and the company was aware of this, then a set of keys for each pair of clients should be made available.
Ciao Leonie, thank you so much for your kind review and for taking the time to write in – I’m so pleased you liked the apartment and its convenient position. You also make an excellent point regarding the need for an extra set of keys and I can now confirm that we have contacted the apartment owner who is organising a further set for the convenience of future guests (I’m so sorry that this didn’t come in time to be of use to you and very much hope it didn’t cause you all a lot of inconvenience – please accept my apologies for this). Hoping very much that we see you again soon and sending all our best wishes to you there in Melbourne.

Air Conditioning a real plus during the September heat wave. Great location in a real community very close to all the main sites but without the commercial bustle.
So glad you enjoyed the very Venetian vibe of Calle Lunga San Barnaba (a favourite of mine) and really hope that we see you again soon. Many thanks from us all for writing in!
Ciao e Grazie

“Charming Old-Fashioned apartment”
Left on 05/17/2011 for a stay in April 2011 | A FlipKey verified reviewerReviewed May 17, 2011Stayed Apr 2011
The apartment is spacious and delightful and looks out on both a characterful street in Dorsoduro and a quiet garden courtyard at the back. It is very well-equipped. Hot water failed while we were there and the people form VonV could not have been more helpful, offering us keys to another apartment, while the problem was fixed.
Thank you Donald, not only for your very kind words but for your patience at the time regarding the hot water. Hoping we can welcome you back in the future, it would be a real pleasure to have you stay at Ca’ Ai Putti or indeed any one of our apartments! With all our very best to you and your friends.
