On the third floor with lift and overlooking a very bright internal courtyard and neighbouring rooftops, Ca' San Lorenzo invites you into the privileged ranks of the true Venetian resident for the duration of your holiday, well away from the tourist throngs and souvenir stalls (yet still within walking distance of St. Mark's) and set within an area offering some of Venice's most memorable sensory delights.
Crisp and freshly appointed, the apartment has traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring throughout (a treat for the feet after a busy day exploring the calles) and a beamed main living room incorporating a comfortable sitting area, dining space and a well-fitted modern kitchen. The bedroom, also with beams, is nicely decorated, enjoys plenty of natural light and has a double bed. The modern bathroom is well-sized and has a large shower while the apartment's air-conditioning, internet (on request) and washing machine ensures you enjoy all the comforts of a home-away-from-home.
Quietly positioned in a tranquil, sleepy area shared with a barely discernable trickle of inquisitive and well-informed visitors seeking out the 'genuine' everyday Venice of gently flapping washing lines, sun-dappled courtyards and characterful neighbourhoods, Ca' San Lorenzo is within a stone's throw of the monumental Dominican Basilica di Santi Giovanni e Paolo (known as 'Zanipolo' in dialect - one of the largest churches in Venice and burial place of no fewer than 25 Venetian Doges) and on the 'right' side of town for visiting the Biennale Pavilions at Arsenale and Giardini.
Perhaps take time to absorb the Carpaccio paintings at the richly atmospheric Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni nearby ('St Jerome and the Lion' is a particular favourite!) or take in the imposing facade of the cavernous Church of San Lorenzo (supposed resting place of famous Venetian explorer Marco Polo (1255-1324) before his body was lost during its rebuilding, now closed to the public and directly opposite the 'Questura' office of Donna Leon's fictional Commissario Guido Brunetti). Within easy reach of a 'Punto' supermarket near San Lorenzo and the small local shops of Salizada San Francesco and Barbaria Del Tole for an easy self-catering stay and for doing as much, or as little, as you like!

We received a very warm welcome to Ca'San Lorenzo. Everything was thoroughly explained and immediately we felt "at Home".
All facilities were fantastic.
We were lucky to be located in a quiet neighbourhood away from the hustle and bustle of crowded Venice, close to local shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes.
For the two of us the apartment was spacious, cool and comfortable.
Ciao Two Australians! Brilliant to hear you had such a nice time and do come back soon – we’d love to see you! With all our thanks to you both and a ‘Happy New Year’.

This seems to be an odd word to have chosen as outstanding; since your star rating system doesn't seem to work (this is the property etc has only three stars where I would prefer to go for four or even five) t's also worth saying that the apartment was well appointed, comfortable and, for Venice, appropriately prices. The staff were ever helpful and charming and the location perfect. Our elder daughter stayed with us by arrangement and an additional fee, over our weekend there and the size and arrangement were entirely adequate, still spacious, for three people. And, yes, the convenience of the location and its site beyond the tourist melee but still central was excellent. S Silvestro is a charming and 'native' part of the city, quiet and obviously lived in but without the pressure of San Marco and Rialto, though, of course, those areas, as others, are accessible on foot.

The place is exactly as described by Views on Venice and we loved it.
ALL VIEWS ON VENICE RATES, IRRESPECTIVE OF LENGTH OF STAY, ARE FULLY INCLUSIVE OF ALL UTILITIES* - gas, electricity, bed linen, towels, final cleaning, welcome on arrival and check-in up until 7.30 p.m.** are all included, as are air-conditioning and internet access if available at your chosen apartment. And while the Venice Tourist Tax*** is an extra on bookings made on or after 8th May '13, there are NO HIDDEN CHARGES.
Rentals of over 7 nights also include a weekly bed linen and towel change during your stay.
* Telephone charges, where applicable, are extra.
**Arrivals between 7.30 p.m. and midnight incur a late arrival fee of ?50, payable in cash upon arrival.
*** Introduced by the City of Venice Council on stays at hotels, b&b;, campsites, apartment rentals etc., this per night/per person tax is levied on the first 5 consecutive nights of a client?s stay in Venice and is payable to your Views on Venice representative in cash (euros) upon arrival at the apartment.
The Rental Deposit (40% of the rental) will be debited from your credit card when you finalise your booking with us, while the balance will be debited by you through our credit card payment gateway at least 20 days prior to your arrival.
