Located in the exclusive Dorsoduro district, the Gabriel Bella apartment stands out for the picturesque canal view and the quality of the interiors. Named after the homonymous XVIII century Venetian painter for the remarkable collection of prints found in each room, this apartment offers a unique opportunity to learn through these interesting paintings how Venetian everyday life use to be at that time. In fact he was particularly good at picturing games, feasts, cultural and political celebrations taking place in Venice during '700.
This apartment has been newly restored in 2011 using state of the art technology and great taste in choosing furniture. The ambience is soft and welcoming while the comfort is assured by an air-conditioning system installed in every room, well equipped kitchen with four induction hot plates, large fridge and freezer, oven/microwave, dish washer, washing machine, etc.
Beside all main appliances, the house caring landlord equipped this house with a laptop computer: in the hard disk there is an extensive database of Venetian movies and music available for the privileged guests. You can listen to the music controlled from this computer and connect to the Wi-Fi internet connection in each room. The technology equipment of the house includes scanner and printer for those who need an office in Venice.
The Gabriel Bella is laid out on two levels: the living room is found at the ground floor and is accessible directly from theFondamenta(Venetian name of street that borders a canal) where you can relax on the designer sofa keeping the door open in order to allow the gentle sound of the water splashing in. There is a bedroom with a firm queen size pull-out sofa bed (prepared only on request prior to arrival) or there is a comfortable single pull out bed (which is softer) and a bathroom with large shower box and washing machine.
Through an easy to climb stairway of about 15 steps you get to the dining room and kitchen area, possibly the most pleasant room of the house owing to the charming balcony overlooking the canal. At the opposite side of the floor there is the master bedroom with king size mattress and a twin/double bedroom, both with plenty of wardrobe space and of good size. These two rooms share the nice bathroom at the first floor, unless you go downstairs and use the ground floor bathroom.
Every detail in this apartment is studied in order to maximize your comfort and confer prestige. Absolutely quiet and totally private, the Gabriel Bella is highly recommended to anyone who like to indulge, with special reference to whom are interested in historical Venetian culture.

We had a throughly enjoyable stay in this new redecorated flat. The living area and bedrooms upstairs were roomy, great cupboard space and ideal for unwinding after walking around Venice.
We didn't really use the downstairs as the water level was high and still had the flood gate in place on the front door but I am sure we would have used teh space more in the summer - but this all adds to the Venice experience in my view.
The location is excellent and the service we received from Truly Venice was great.
“Fantastic location for exploring Venice and lovely being on a ca”

The Gabriel Bella apartment, though small, provided a superb location for exploring all parts of Venice by foot or boat. Local amenities good. Lovely view of Giudecca Canal without the bustle and noise. Tranquil despite being 10 mins walk to St Marks. Living area a little cramped for 6 of us, but bedrooms/bathrooms top notch.

We were impressed in every way with Truly Venice - from the pick-up service to the information received to the wonderful home. Our house was just gorgeous and much larger than we thought. The facilities were great, kitchen was very modern and the whole flat lovely and cool through the air condition, which worked very well. We were also very impressed with all the info on Venice in the flat, the Wlan, and the apple laptop with films made in Venice downloaded on it.
Most of all, we loved the location. It's right by a canal, and close to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, but still quiet.
The only slightly negative feedback (and this is really tiny) would be that the dishes and glasses in the kitchen were too delicate and elegant (2 broke just by being in the dishwasher). Perhaps something slightly more hard-wearing could be considered.

We were very pleased with the appartment. There are a lot of commodities and the owner let us every useful thing you can imagine, including Wi-Fi, Mac Computer and printer. It is very well located and quiet. Perfect !

We chose Gabriel Bella because it was newly remodeled and in a location we were told by friends, from Venice itself, that Dorsuduro was a great place to stay - 'residential' - but very convenient to academia bridge, Guggenheim museum (5 min each) and the wonderful Zattere for strolling. It fronts a side-canal that, importantly, has a fondamenta, or sidewalk bordering the canal. We have 3 children, ages 6, 9 & 12, so this was important for them to be able to get out and run around. The unit is small, but nice and the size is reflected in the very reasonable price. It is perfect for a family with 2 children. We also booked quite a few tours through Truly Venice, which were very additive to the experience - a twilight cruise of the Grand Canal in a Motoscafo (water taxi) with Prosecco is an unforgettable experience!

The smell in the apartment's ground floor was really bad. The sleeping sofa in the ground floor extra room was uncomfortable and the room itself noisy during the night due to the kettle. Also it was promised that someone would come to make up the bed, but no one ever came. The rooms upstairs are good, so is the kitchen, living area and bathrooms.
