Additional Location Information

Very interesting location: close to the beautiful "Riva degli Schiavoni"- the famous seaside walk with views over the "Salute" - a very quiet, non-touristic neighbourhood, still inhabited by Venetians- The Arsenale boat stop is only 5 minutes'walk away.
You can reach S.Marco by walking along the Riva, in 10 minutes.
The apartment is ideally located for a visit to the Biennale ( 5 minutes) Many grocery shops in the adjoining streets. If you like wine, try and buy it "sfuso"- not botteld- in one of the many wineries. ( try "Prosecco fermo or Tocai for the white, and Cabernet or Cabernet Sauvignon for the red).
Parking:: not advisable! anyway, the are parking lots by the bridge connecting Venice to the mainland.( Piazzale Roma) The city can be better reached by train or by plane. From the station, bus-boat n°1 goes along the Grand Canal : a wonderful view, and a little more time needed ( 1 hour from the station to the Arsenale stop)- bus-boat n° 41 makes its way across the Canale della Giudecca ( 30 to 40 minutes).
From the Marco Polo airport: Alilaguna, the shuttle line, takes you to Arsenale in apporx. 1 hour's time.
Water taxis exist but are considerably expensive.
Some low-cost companies land in the nearby airport of Treviso. There are busses connecting this airport to Venice- they arrive near the train station ( piazzale Roma)- then you take the bus-boat as described
