Casa Grande Santa margherita Venice, Veneto - Venice, Italy
Additional Location Information
You are in the Dorsoduro district (a name that probably refers to the consistency of the subsoil). You are close to one of the largest and most beautiful areas in all Venice - Santa Margherita Square and also the Venetian '700 museum - Ca' Rezzonico. In the Square you will find many bars, restaurants, pizzerias, as well as a supermarket (Point SMA), the fresh fish market (mornings), chemist, bank, tobacconist and a newsagent. The best vaporetto stop to reach the islands is in Piazzale Roma, and the best to reach the center is CĂ Rezzonico. To get there arrive in Campo Santa Margherita , go on to Campo San Barnaba, cross it and go down the street to the boat stop on the Grand Canal. Here you will also find the traditional gondola (every morning from Monday to Saturday 8 to 8.30 am and 1 to1.30p.m. at 0.50 Euro/cents each) that takes you across the canal to San Samuele (Palazzo Grassi, seat of some of the major exhibitions).
You are also close to Zattere, the 'Riviera' of the Venetians, to get a nice tan in summer and warm in winter. The ice cream shops are open almost all year round. At Zattere you’ll find a good supermarket "Billa" and in Piazzale Roma you have the Coop supermarket for the organic prudocts. Another very convenient supermarket is “Discount Prix" on the Fondamenta dei Cereri, right down stairs.
