Adorable Nantucket-style Beach Cottage in Ventura
Additional Location Information
Ideal setting in idyllic Ventura Beach, a quiet and residential town between the booming beach destinations around Los Angeles and, to the North, Santa Barbara.
Ventura offers everything you could want; it's picturesque, with soft and green mountains hugging the coast, romantic, and, when you want it to be, exciting. There are endless opportunities for shopping (Main Street is the central hub), hiking (beautiful mountains extend behind and around the Ventura coast, complete with waterfalls, wildflowers, and a wide and protected variety of flora and fauna), and general beach-lounging.
In short, our cottage couldn't be in a better place. It's two houses from the beach, so you get the easy access without sacrificing privacy, and there are a number of adorable food shops and stands a few blocks away, in addition to a prevalence of markets and In n' Out (of course) about a 5 minute drive.
Ventura is a great place for people who want to get away from the crowds and pressures of the world without feeling like a commodity--which is how you feel in Santa Monica or even Santa Barbara. It's a laid-back, old-hippie beach town with everything you could want or need for a luxurious stay. It offers everything, really; concerts, surf, big and boisterous farmers markets, incredible hiking, superb vistas, old men in rainbow shirts, and one beautiful sunset after another.
All said, Ventura is a paradise, and is one of the few places in California to have stayed that way.
