Additional Location Information

We are located on 5 acres in the rural west coast town of Metchosin, BC. Only a 30 minute drive from downtown Victoria, BC. We have pigs, chickens, ducks, 2 english setters, a large vegetable garden and lots of wildlife (deer, owls, turkey vultures, ravens, bald eagles and an assortment of smaller birds). We are also located right on the Galloping Goose Trail at the 28km marker (a 60km old railway line, which starts in Victoria). Only a 3.0 km bike ride or walk to Matheson Lake (on the galloping goose trail) and it's only a 10 min walk from the house to Weirs Beach. A beautiful deck to relax with your morning coffee and enjoy the ocean and mountain views. Within the town core, is a small historic church, a heritage schoolhouse, Community House and Hall where throughout the year there are different events - craft fairs, performances by the Pearson College students to name a few, MyChosen Cafe and Pizza, where you can go for a filling meal, have pizza delivered, or take it to the beach and watch the sun set. There are endless natural forests, parks, beaches to go for walks or hikes and take in the natural beauty of Vancouver Island. At the end of September, the turkey vultures take flight, October/November is the time to see the salmon going up stream to spawn. There is enough to do here and the surrounding area - so come for 5 days or a week! Don't miss the opportunity to stay in 2014!
