Description

Welcome to our page for our charming two bedroom apartment available for holiday rental in the picturesque town of Villefranche-sur-Mer on the French Riviera.

In the heart of the Old Town, this family-owned rental apartment is just 150 metres from the colourful, working harbour – widely acclaimed to be one of the most beautiful bays in the Mediterranean. The apartment is also close to a wonderful choice of bars and restaurants….from casual takeaways to Michelin award-winning eateries.

The air-conditioned, third floor apartment sleeps four and has two bedrooms (one double and one twin). There is also a double sofa bed. The fully equipped kitchen also has a washing machine for our guests' convenience. The large Lounge/Diner opens up onto a balcony. There is WiFi at the apartment.

Villefranche-sur-Mer is a delightful, historic French fishing town on the Cote d'Azur, steeped in history but with all the conveniences of the 21st century. A short journey from Nice and Monaco and a 45 minute drive from Italy, renting an apartment in Villefranche-sur-Mer is the ideal place to base yourself for your holiday in the South of France.

With a warm climate, beautiful beach and year-round azure skies, Villefranche-sur-Mer is host to many festivals, markets and events throughout the year. With its roots dating back to medieval times and a heritage of French and Italian occupation, the architecture is inspired and breathtaking.

Bedding is provided but towels are not (please bring your own).

With so much to see and do, one week won't be enough!

Note - there is a refundable £500 security deposit required & a cleaning/sheet washing of £130 per booking.

Please check and confirm you booking with me (Fraser Macdonald) before you book your flights.

Please note that there 3 flights of stairs to the apartment (no lift).

Located in the heart of the Old Town this rental apartment in Villefranche-sur-Mer is ideally positioned. Close to all the local amenities and transport links as well as being just 100 yards from the harbour.

The temperate climate, sandy beaches, and ambiance of Old Town in Villefranche-sur-Mer make this enchanting town a popular tourist destination.

The natural beauty and topography of Villefranche-sur-Mer has also made this a favourite location for film directors. Films made here include The Jewel of the Nile with Michael Douglas, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Michael Caine, Diamond Geezer starring David Jason and Ronin with Robert de Niro.

Attracting a cosmopolitan group of residents and visitors, Villefranche-sur-Mer has still retained its core character and local culture and is one of the most charming villages on the French Riviera in the heart of the Cote D'Azur.

The apartment is in the Old Town of Villefranche-sur-Mer. Old town is a wonderful labyrinth of tiny streets with limited automotive access.

Check-in & Check-out times:

Response from the owner Thank you Wendy for your review. I am glad you enjoyed your visit. When we first purchased the apartment it did not have air conditioning and it was one of the first changes we made. I agree, it is a godsend! We do have a hairdryer for guests to use so I am not sure what has happened with that. I will check for it when I am next at the apartment.

Response from the owner Many thanks for your review. There are 42 steps which are a little steep. There were no lifts in the 17th century when this apartment block was built. This can't be changed but we clearly state about the steps in the advert.

“A great holiday location in itself but also a great launching pad to explore Riviera”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2016

Villefranche-sur-Mer is both charming and more tucked away than busier Nice and Monte Carlo. The flat is close to shops, beach and, above all, the railway station. I discovered that (at least in mid-June) there's free (near-Citadel) parking for a person with a car. During our stay the village was not overrun with tourists so there was a sense of real discovery both within the village and on the day-trips taken to places like Nice, St Paul de Vence and Grasse. A more-than-decent selection of dvds awaited us in the flat each evening. We had all the amenities needed to have breakfast before heading off each day. Because we were on holidays we didn't want to cook in the evenings and the restaurants in Villefranche held up for 4 nights in row without any disappointments. The Flat had aircon but we barely needed it. The clothes washing machine did get used once- a blessing. Close enough to 2 good beaches to start/end each day with a swim in the sea.

Response from the owner I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay. We have built up the DVD collection over 14 years and take DVDs every time we go. There are probably 200+ films.

“Fantastic Location”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2014

This is our second visit to Villefranche and we plan to go again. The owner was exceptionally easy and professional to deal with in making the booking and during and after our two week stay. This was one of six apartments we used this visit to France and it was certainly amongst the best. The apartment contained everything we needed, was very comfortable and you could'nt find a better location in Villefranche, just a few steps from shops and restaurants, in particular a small boulangerie which opens early for fresh baguettes. Villefranche itself is central to all attractions from Cannes to Menton and provides quick access to village such as St Paul de Vence, Eze and La Turbie. We would not hesitate to stay in this apartment again. It offers exceptional value for this location.

“Lovely apartment in a beautiful town.”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2014

This apartment is lovely and full of authentic charm. It was great to eat breakfast on the balcony and watch the street below. We were a bit daunted at first as there are quite a lot of stairs up to the apartment, but we soon got used to them. This may make the apartment unsuitable for those with young children or mobility problems. Having said that, it was a lovely and comfortable base for our holiday on the French Riviera. Everything that you could need (shops, restaurants, beach) is very close and it's only a 10 minute walk to the station. The apartment had everything we needed (including a washing machine) and there is a great selection of DVDs if you fancy staying in! It was unseasonably hot during our stay so having air conditioning in the apartment was great. The owners have also included lots of information and guides about the local area which was a really lovely touch.

“Great location - easy access to waterfront, town, and train”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2014

The flat is just a few metres away from waterfront restaurants and shops, and a 10 minute walk to the train station and the town. The accommodation is perfect for a family or two couples to share with two bedrooms, separate kitchen, and washing machine. Great value even during high season.
