Additional Location Information

Heidadorf Visperterminen is located high above Visp at about 1’378m above sea level. In this German-speaking Valais mountain village in Southern Switzerland, guests experience the perfect interaction between nature, pleasure and culture.

Visperterminen is known by the highest vineyard in Europe. Up here until 1’150m above sea level, it grows the Visperterminer Heida wine. Heida is an ancient grape that gives the village its name. Wine has got a long tradition in Visperterminen. Already the Celts have grown wine here. The local tourist office hosts weekly wine tastings at St. Jodern Kellerei.

In addition to the wine, Heidadorf offers endless hiking possibilities in summer and a small family-ski station in winter. A chairlift runs directly from the village up to 2’000m above sea level. Unspoiled landscape with clear mountain lakes, “Suonen” (artificial historical water pipes) and breathtaking views of the Rhone valley and the surrounding mountains are, in addition to the highest vineyard in Europe, trademarks of Visperterminen.

Culture, traditions and customs are practiced in this typical mountain village by the villagers like no other in Valais.

The tourist office is open daily from Monday to Friday and informs you about excursions and events. Contact them at (email: hidden) or by phone under (phone: hidden)
