The house is just five minutes from the entrance to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. Once in the park you can take a hike across the floor of Kilauea-Iki crater or to Halema'u ma'u, home of the fire goddess Pele or you can climb through the volcano’s many lava tubes.

Hale KupuKupu’s location puts you 60 minutes from Ka Lae (South Point) & Green Sand Beach and Punalu’u Black Sand Beach where you may see turtles nesting and swimming is about 30 minutes away. You are also 40 minutes away from historic and beautiful downtown Hilo with restaurants, shops, museums and nearby snorkeling beaches.
