I stayed for a week with my 12 year old son and my wife. My son and I speak Italian so possibly we just fit in better than some of the English that have complained about no screens. Seriously, if you want screens and bright lights stay at the Holiday Inn in Rome!
Daniela was great as was her young son who played with mine. The location is ideal; inside the city wall (actually the old city wall IS the wall of the property. There is parking inside the gate of the property which is nice if you have rented a car. The Cafe Pace at the end of the road is fantastic. The pool was cold (in May) but that didn't stop my son from going in! If you're looking for an "authentic" tuscan experience without the hustle of Florence or Siena, this is it.

This house was perfect for our needs, being in the lovely town of Volterra so within walking distance of restaurants, and amenities. It was great to explore the town on foot during the day and go back and enjoy the houses' garden and swimming pool after. The house itself is simply furnished but characteristic, its the outside area and location that we enjoyed most. We could relax in the garden whilst the kids were in the pool and had a few lovely barbeques too. We did have a car which we found good as we did explore further afield and the house has its own parking space, so no prbolem there. The caretakers next door were discreet but lovely. As was the owner who met us on arrival. We had quite a few questions before choosing the property as we had not been to Tuscany before and the agency was very prompt and precise in their replies. They gave an excellent service. We shall no doubt return.
