The Palisades District location is quiet but convieniant. We parked our car and used the bus ( stop across the street ) to tour DC. The C&O; Canal is nearby & we enjoyed a hike from the apartment to Georgetown on one of our days. Several restaurants in the neighbourhood ( great Pizza from Listrani's ) & a Starbucks nearby where my husband picked up the morning Java fix! The Safeway is .7 miles away on Macarthur Blvd.
If you have a problem with stairs this is not the rental for you. The Sanctuary is a basement Studio apt. & stairs cannot be avoided. The kitchen is very well equipped with utensils, dishes, pots, and extras. Laundry Room with extra storage was a bonus.
Wi-Fi was excellent. The mattress was comfortable. Although small the bathroom was tastefully done and functional.
This is a small unit, but it works well . Matthias the owner is available via phone , email & in person. We enjoyed our one week in DC & our stay in the Sanctuary.
