“Nice apartment!” Apartment was roomy and had all the features as advertised! We were met on arrival and everything was taken care of and explained! The internet can be painfully slow. We were there in October so the temperature was fine. You might be hot in summer? There is so street noise, but nothing earplugs wouldn't take care of! Bring cash or an aTM card with you to the Galapagos. Most businesses don't like credit cards!

“A great experience” My sons and I stayed at Villa Tortuga for 10 days. It was a wonderful experience. The house was better than we expected, very comfortable and cozy. It had everything we needed to feel at home. The location was excellent, at walking distance to Puerto ayora and also to the beautiful Tortuga Bay, which I think is the most beautiful beach in the area. It was great to return to the Villa after the beautiful day tours we did. The house has a very peaceful atmosphere, hidden in an exotic garden which is carefully kept . We followed Tatjana's recommendations and everything worked out perfectly well. Maria the house keeper was sweet and helpful and Marco the taxi driver was always ready to help. Thank you Tatjana for a wonderful time!

Casita Muyuyo
A little piece of heaven

My husband and I stayed here for 9 nights recently and absolutely loved the accommodations. From the handling of the booking to check out everything went smoothly. The Casita is provisioned for a family of four and everything is in good working order. We were glad for the extra room after having spent 5 nights on a small sailboat cruising the islands. We were in heaven! Maria the housekeeper/troubleshooter/greeter/all around sweetheart took care of all of our needs. While her command of the English language matched our limited Spanish we were able to communicate effectively. The location is fantastic for grocery shopping and sightseeing. The entire house is built with wood accents and as a result the casita smelled fresh and clean which we have noted is difficult to maintain in tropical environments. Bedrooms- Both bedrooms are air-conditioned and have high ceilings with fans. The weather in June was cool in the evening so we didn't really need the a/c. Beds at first appeared to be hard but they really weren't. I slept like a baby! Getting up for diving was pretty tough. Bathroom was equipped with hotwater shower, toilet, shelves and sink with console. There was lots of room for storing your toiletries. Towels were provided. Kitchen was well equipped with gas stove and fridge. There was sufficient cutlery, dishes, tupperware, and utensils to cook up a meal. The kitchen table provided nice sitting area for dining. Sometimes it was more inexpensive to eat out so you could save yourself the trouble of doing dishes! There is a nice sitting area inside and on a small patio for relaxing outside. The Casita is located within a large walled and secured area with gardens full of flowering tree and walkways. At night you could actually smell the light perfume of the flowers. Gasa Tortuga and Villa Opuntia are also located here but with sufficient distance to provide privacy. Tatjana and Maria made the rental experience trouble free.Highly recommend this place.see more
Casa Tortuga
Clean, Modern, Roomy house in perfect location

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Tortuga... it is a perfect little garden oasis... and it is so close to the waterfront walk and food kiosks! The house is located in a very nice part of town and the evening walk to the food kiosks was always very pleasant. Maria, who looks after the house, was very friendly and had fresh fruit on the table when we arrived. The house is roomy and well-equipped and soon feels like home. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms could be challenging for folks with knee/hip problems. We would definitely stay here again. The cooler of fresh water was highly appreciated on hot sunny days!see more
Casa Paloverde
Charming house with all amenities on Santa Cruz

If you are thinking of a land based tour of the Galapagos Islands, then a stay at Casa Opuntia is worth considering. This beautiful three bedroom house, a few blocks from the waterfront, is securely tucked behind a private wall and gate and sits amid a stunning garden of cacti, flowering trees and colorful plants. Inside, an open kitchen/living/dining room, with large computer station provide several sitting areas. You will find everything you need in the well-stocked kitchen, including a 6 burner stove and side by side refrigerator. A washer and dryer are right outside the kitchen door. The living room proper has two large and well-cushioned sofas, as well as two swivel chairs, a TV and center coffee table, many current Dvds and a small library. The two downstairs bedrooms, each with bath, are away from the sun, and always cool, making the air-conditioners optional. Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom has a super comfy king size bed, a leather sofa and chair, and ample storage in a floor to ceiling armoire and separate dresser constructed from gorgeous local wood. Adjoining bath comes with a tub and shower combo! The large windows here are screened and nicely appointed with roman blinds. There is an overhead fan as well as a/c. Sliding doors lead from the bedroom to a huge outdoor patio, also accessed through a side door at the top of the stairs. Steps leading from that second floor patio take you to another rooftop level with a bar and bar stools, chaise lounges and hammocks. Careful planning, quality of design and workmanship are evident everywhere in this charming home. The owner, a professional artist, has some of her lovely paintings throughout the house. She is a pleasure to work with and will immediately respond, should you have any questions or concerns. Maid service is always available and can be arranged as you like with the owner. It was a real treat for us to have spent ten days here and it is without hesitation that we highly recommend Casa Opuntia.see more
Orchidea
Great, spacious apartment close to downtown

As many people have mentioned, Paul is an incredible host. While not present during our stay, he communicated promptly via email and helped us with a delayed check in. The house was ready when we arrived and we found the accommodations to exceed our expectations. The apartment is in a safe area close to town yet far enough away from the bulk of noise. The short walk to downtown was enjoyable but taxis drove by frequently enough to grab one for a dollar if desired. Some people mentioned excessive noise. The apartment is in a quieter part of town but does receive a lot of local traffic. I think the traffic, car alarms, etc are really unavoidable since we encountered this type of noise throughout all areas off Ecuador. We were never kept up at night or awakened too early by any of this noise. The apartment felt secure with a high wall and lockable gate around a nicely landscaped yard. The apartment does not have aC and did feel a bit hot at sometimes, mainly early afternoon. There are fans in every room which kept us at a comfortable temperature most of the time. The kitchen was well equipped and the wifi worked fine for us all week. We never met Maria but she brought us fresh water in the middle of our stay and made the beds mid week. We arranged our tours through the property manager, Ingrid, at Galapagos for You. Her prices seemed competitive to those we checked in town and her customer service was great. She arranged several last minute day tours for us and even picked us up one morning and drove us to the pier. I highly recommend you contact her for day tours or other needs. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Orchidea and would highly recommend it. The only advice for visitors is that day tours to other islands are via a 2 hour speedboat ferry each way. This leaves little time to see each island in detail. If we had 4 or 5 more days in the Galapagos we would have stayed a few nights on the other inhabited islands to see some more of the inland sights.see more
