“Beautiful House, Magnificent Setting” This house certainly has the wow factor when you walk in. If you are looking for a private Ireland holiday home then this is it. Can't even describe the magnificent views that you see from the many large windows. Bright, spacious, clean and comfortable. Loved being able to do laundry and hang it out to dry in the sunshine. Spent many hours relaxing on the patio. Cooked several meals and had everything we needed. Had a cozy peat fire every evening. Kathleen and Timmy made sure we were settled in and had everything we needed-they are just super-nice people! We particularly enjoyed the Skellig Ring which was only 20min or so away and then over to Valentia Island and going up to Fogher Mtn. Also enjoyed Derrynane, shopping in Sneem and Caherciveen and the drive to Hogshead. A good daytrip was going to Beara Pennisula, shopping in Kenmare and visiting Glenquiliquin (many good hikes). I wish I had asked Katheen earlier in the week about what pubs to visit for local performances. This house far exceeded our expectations and I feel very lucky to have been able to stay here!

“A really lovely holiday home” In fact, this year was the second time we stayed at Brendans for our summer holiday. Brendans cottage is a charming, traditional place to explore Valentia and the Kerry coast. The small garden is perfect to relax, the way down to the strand is just a couple of meters. The cottage has all facilities needed - the kitchen is well equipped. Brendans cottage has a very friendly owner who did all to make our stay comfortable.

“Fabulous property in a beautiful location.” This was a holiday to remember. What a fabulous property in a lovely area with shops, garage, pubs and restaurant nearby and a beautiful beach in Glenbeigh, which we walked to on our first day there. The house had everything you would want and was very tastefully decorated. It was lovely to see photos of how the house had been built with details of the family and the wedding in Italy. We liked the peace and quiet, the beautiful scenery and the location, which enabled us to access the Ring of Kerry. The Irish people, as I have experienced before, are lovely people and make you feel very welcome. The service from Sykes Cottages was excellent. Thank you for an enjoyable and memorable holiday. Wish we were still there.

Luxurious modern family holiday home, 4 bed-3 en-suite, very private.
Pure perfection... a little bit of heaven!

As serial 'holiday renters' for the past fifteen years, we have stayed in many properties throughout Ireland, Austria, France, Scotland, Spain and Portugal...but this tops them all! It's the first one that the kids said I should buy!! We (2 adults, 3 children) spent a week at the house during april and it was pure escapism. The house is a new-build and very well finished with all the comforts you could possibly desire. The accommodation was very clean and we settled right in, it is a very large house on a large plot and therefore everyone in the family managed to find their own space to escape to, whether it was indoors or outdoors. Incidentally, the property has great entertaining space, we did not make full use of it's potential but we did have a beautiful supper on the patio. All of the above and marry that with the magnificent location of this property, the Lake and rolling hills on your doorstep... I had a book to read during our stay but spent most of my time distracted by the view, gazing out of the large panoramic window in the lounge! Our host for the week was Kathleen, she was fantastic providing a very warm welcome and with her knowledge of Waterville & Co. Kerry we very quickly had a comprehensive to-do list. Derrynane, a walk along Waterville beach and driving the Ring are a must. All in all a truly wonderful property in a very special setting, our only disappointment was having to hand the keys back at the end of our stay! We will certainly be returning. … see more

A perfect little cottage: Its just a (steep) scramble up to the Kerry Way from the back of the house, which made for the perfect walking situation. Being just outside Waterville was perfect for us too, close enough to do the shopping, but far enough away to be tranquil. Bernie, the owner, made a perfect hostess, and the cottage was pretty much perfect too. The stairs are steep - its not really designed for families or seniors, but it would make a great base for two couples. … see more
