Cute Lakeside with Bikes, Kayaks and GREAT View!
Enjoy the remote beauty of the Adirondacks in our adorable lakeside camp with gorgeous views of the lake. Sleeps up to 3.
Was featured as a recommended romantic get away in Rachel Rays Magazine!
Our home is called 'Trailer-Liscious'. She's a renovated 1960's mobile home that is now a unique and delightful modern lakeside retreat. Has an open, loft like feeling. One bedroom has comfy double bed. A second small bedroom has one single bed. Propane fireplace for cozy firelight at night, lots of Anderson windows to capture the gorgeous views of the lake from every room.
Furnishings are new, modern and comfy...we are looking for considerate guests who can appreciate the lake view location, the small town of Wells and beauty of Lake Algonquin, and will take good care of her during their stay. Wells is a sleepy lake town with very few tourists, there is an ice cream shop, a great breakfast spot, tennis courts, basketball courts and great hiking and watersports. Look up The Revival which is a renovated historic church in town for some great music events! Restaurants in surrounding towns.
There are a ton of outdoor activities in this area, we provide specific directions to great hikes, waterfalls, and nearby interesting towns like Saratoga and Lake George.
House has full kitchen, flat screen tv w/lots great DVD's, Netflix, plenty of books and games. No cable. Phone w/free local and long distance (Verizon cell service only up here), high speed wireless, iPod player, Weber gas grill, outdoor picnic table and outdoor firepit for roasting marshmallows and star gazing. 2 kayaks and 2 very nice bikes in warm weather, 2 sets snowshoes in winter.
SPRING, SUMMER and FALL guests enjoy kayaking on the lake, swimming, hiking, biking, antiquing and simply experiencing the wild outdoors of the Adirondacks. We supply a complete binder of specific directions and hikes to waterfalls, walks along rivers, small mountains to climb for spectacular views - really you would think you were in Switzerland with some of the views here in the ADK's! Kayaks available Apr 15-Oct 31.
WINTER is a great time for hikes to the dramatic waterfalls, snowmobiling, x country or downhill skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing or just chilling by the fire. Beautiful views from inside the house, especially during a snowfall...it's like being inside a snow globe with all the windows! Our neighbors feed the deer and turkey - so you will see lots of them right out front, they cross our yard to get to the goods. We supply 2 sets snowshoes.
NO SMOKING and NO PET policy - this is an allergy sensitive home. 3 persons max here (one double bed, one single bed).
Please note: RECYCLES - are a real hassle here. Guests must agree to take them out if they bring a lot in. Small amounts can be left (less than one bag full) but you must follow the towns strict recycle rules - they must be kept clean and separate from garbage. We (i.e. the housekeeper) then have to take them to the dump and separate them into bins by hand. She simply cannot handle this task if large amounts are left.
Rates listed are for two persons, there is a $10 per day fee for 3rd guest.
You can pay through Flipkey or TripAdvisor, but please note they add a service charge for this. Your other option is paying us directly by check, or if within 30 days of arrival we take cc plus 3% (that's what it costs us to accept cc).
Midweek dates offer some great rates. We have many return guests, so if you like it here and want to come back, we offer reduced rates during our non peak dates to our repeat guests.

It is a winter wonderland here! We supply 2 sets of snowshoes for local exploring, skiing is terrific - both x country and downhill. Small ice skating rink in town, ice fishing abounds, and there are car races on this lake that are thrilling to watch, and can be seen from the comfort of your sofa if you like or take a walk and watch them up close and personal. My boyfriend and I had a great time at Trailer-Licious. We wanted to get away from the big city and enjoy nature but not stay in a bungalow park or hotel. This location was perfect for that: the trailer gives a lot of privacy, but with a (very :-)) small town around the corner for basic needs and a couple of bigger villages close by for dining and groceries. We loved the hiking, fishing (there is a spot just in front of the house at the lake) and BBQing, it was a truly relaxing experience.
The cabin is perfect for a couple, it gives you all you need including info/recommendations on things to do in the area. You can see the owners take very well care of it, as it is super clean and well kept. Besides that, Maura and David are great hosts and very easy to communicate with. Thanks for the stay!

We cannot stress enough how wonderful our stay at Trailer Liscious was. As I said to Maura, we truly felt like we had a little home away from home for the weekend. It was so cozy and warm by the fireplace in the Winter, and the view out the window is just stunning. We will definitely be coming back!

We left a note in the guestbook but I'll also say here that I'd been dreaming of a snowy, year-end trip, in a beautiful location, with sublime views, and snowshoeing, and crosscountry skiing, and a fireplace. It had taken on epic proportions in my mind. I was hopeful that this place would be exactly what we wanted, and it surpassed our expectations. Not only is it gorgeous, but it also has everything anyone could possibly need in a home away from home. The snowshoes were especially great to have on hand, but also the little things like an apron, and wine glasses, and free phone calls when our cell phones didn't have service, and an extra blanket on the chair to sit and watch the snow fall, and drawers to put away our clothes, and a thermometer to see the temperature every day, and just, well, every item they've put there, they were all appreciated. The town of Wells, too, is beyond lovely. The crosscountry skiing (including night skiing) at nearby Lapland Lake was magical. The trip was everything we dreamed of, and more. We hope to return. And we're thrilled to know they own two other properties in Wells, so we can enjoy the same level of hospitality in a place that can accommodate more people.

My husband and I stayed at "Trailer-liscious" for 10 days after we got married this past June. It was the perfect spot for us. Both our jobs involve sitting in front of computer screens each day, so we were that much more appreciative of our natural surroundings. Most days, we took the kayaks out on Lake algonquin, which was just a quick walk down the hill. (Sitting out in the middle of the water might have been my favorite part.) The accommodations also came with 2 mountain bikes, a small propane grill, and a pretty great movie collection. Also, we had a great time relaxing in a hammock and on a couple of adirondack chairs looking out over the water, that the owners have graciously provided. Overall, it was exactly what we needed to unwind from our day-to-day stress and enjoy a little time away with each other.
Maura and her husband have done a lovely job with the trailer. Practically one entire wall is taken up with windows that overlook the lake. The trees surrounding the structure provide good privacy, and the general experience is comfortable and cozy.
(One little fun & only slightly related tip: the neighboring town, Speculator, NY, has an amazing little donut shop called "Donuts & More", which shares a parking lot with Big M. They offer freshly made donuts continuously! They just might have been some of the best donuts I've ever had!)

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Trailer-Liscious this past week. We needed the time there to do almost nothing at all, and we did that admirably.
We also watched a lot of the Dvds, hiked around the lake a couple of times, hiked for three hours on the Pine Orchard Trail through deep woods, occasional rain showers and bright sun, and once we tried out the kayaks (fun!). Forewarned about dry conditions, we were pleased to enjoy totally green surroundings, enjoyed some rainfall, and watched clouds hide and reveal the heights of the mountains across the lake and everywhere around us; warned about the red squirrels, did not have problems, though they do chatter some; and warned about bears, came ready, but found none. Sad/not sad. When a bear shows up back home, it gets into the news.
We did have some work done on our car at Steve's in Wells, and we recommend him. Last week was the second week his shop was open for business, bringing twelve years' experience to town.
We recommend the Common Grounds Cafe at the north end of Speculator.
We also spent a major part of our last day at the adirondack Museum, enjoyed this very much, learned a lot, and will be mentioning this often to others.
We enjoyed the use of the trailer, checked the weather forecasts on the internet, and knew we could contact Maura and David if we felt we needed anything requiring their attention. Everything there worked as we expected.

We loved our stay at Trailer Liscious - it's even nicer than the pictures. Was a treat to wake up to the sight of fog lifting over the lake. Spent our evenings at the outdoor fire or watching movies from the extensive DVD collection which was much appreciated. Detailed instructions to different hikes were also very helpful - made it to two waterfalls and the Firepower hike which had amazing views for what seemed like hundreds of miles of mountain tops! Wells is a cute and quiet little town, just what we were looking for...would definitely recommend this for a romantic getaway or a spot to launch your adventure hikes from. The kayaks and bikes were a nice bonus too...got to spend some time on and around the lake. Thank you for a memorable holiday! We hope to return in winter for some skiing!
