Description from owner

Description

The Beanacre Barn in the beautiful Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), in Somerset, England, is an exceptionally spacious, open beamed barn which has been imaginatively converted and beautifully furnished by the present owners. It has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award by VisitEngland, given to the few top self-catering properties that offer the highest quality of accommodation and customer service.

Designed for 2 persons, with the added flexibility of the quality sofa-bed for your short stay visitors, the Barn combines modern facilities and great comfort with traditional style in a peaceful setting. The Barn is bright and particularly spacious, centrally heated throughout and is fitted with modern double glazing. It has easy walking access. There is ample parking space for up to two cars directly outside the front door. We have a Charging Point available for your Electric Car.

In the Beanacre Barn we have attempted to create the holiday environment we would wish to enjoy ourselves. We have based the design on a high standard of equipment, top quality furnishings and attractive, comfortable surroundings inside and out.

The garden of the Beanacre Barn is a particularly outstanding feature. We are keen gardeners and have developed it in a contemporary cottage garden style. There are climbing roses on the high walls and the planting in the wide borders includes a range of perennials designed to provide interest and colour through the spring, summer and autumn seasons.

The garden is exclusively for your enjoyment during your stay in the Beanacre Barn and is a beautiful and peaceful place in which to unwind. We provide garden furniture on the sheltered patio for al fresco eating and relaxing.

Getting around

Although the use of a car is strongly recommended, Binegar village is served by a good bus service which stops approximately every hour at the bus-stop which is a short walk (300 metres) from the Beanacre Barn. The bus runs between Wells and Bath. Binegar is on the A37, much of which follows the line of the Roman 'Fosse Way'.

Interaction with guest

We enjoy having you to stay in the Beanacre Barn. On arrival we always welcome you with a short introductory tour of the Barn to ensure you are aware of all the facilities, equipment and features of this special holiday retreat. We live a short distance away in the original 17th century farmhouse and are therefore happy to help with information about any aspect of the surrounding local area from local food markets, banks etc to the many fascinating villages and places of historic interest. The barn has its own sheltered secluded patio which opens on to its own area of the cottage style garden. We make a point of respecting the privacy of this part of the garden which is for your exclusive use.

From start to finish, absolutely loved it. We received a very warm welcome, and were made to feel at home. The facilities were a cut above the rest and we wanted for nothing. The area and surroundings are amazing and so stunningly beautiful. The gardens surrounding the two buildings are spectacular and the abundance of really tasty apples is amazing.
