“Very nice, open, comfy, well-equipped. Master bath a negative”
Left on 11/03/2010 for a stay in July 2010 | KKCReviewed Nov 3, 2010Stayed Jul 2010
July visit. Location is beautiful. Very nice house. Living/Dining room bright, open, many windows. Kitchen beautiful, roomy, modern, open to Living/Dining room, well equipped. Bedrooms very comfortable. Bedroom by kitchen shares bathroom with living area. Others have bathrooms en suite. Media room great for movies, also as bonus common living area - very quiet. By media room is small bunkbed room, windowless, for sleeping only. We walked to & from the village. Downhill, 5-10 minutes, uphill 10-15, depending on pace & load. Youngest with us was 19, oldest 50 so no problem walking. Village has many restaurants, shops, Activity/Adventure-planning sites, gondolas, lifts. We've rented houses every summer for 25 years. We're not complainers nor picky. We liked everything about this house except Master bathroom. Disliked it intensely enough to comment negatively. It's nice sized, & tub is a nice, large, deep, soaking tub. Otherwise, bathroom is badly designed & appointed. Photo shows only a sink & tub. Sole towel bar is what you see in photo & is for a hand towel. Counterspace is meager - only what is around sink. We dragged desk on opposite side of bedroom across to wall outside bathroom for a place other than floor for our toiletries. What is not in photo is incredibly small shower in corner out of view to left of camera. It is a small, pre-fabricated quarter circle, with barely enough room to turn around. We couldn't raise arms or bend down without bumping enclosure or fixtures. It has no shelf or recess for soap, shampoo, razor... so shower floor or outside enclosure are the options. Shower was our greatest annoyance & truly only reason for commenting at all about bathroom. All other issues we adapted to easily.
