“A Forest Bungalow!” My family and I had a great time at Ptarmigan, Big Mountain-Whitefish, MT. We did it all! Went to Glacier National Park, enjoyed Big Mountain, toured the town and relaxed in the hottub! Our favorite part was making meals in a house in the woods. It was so magical being surrounded by cedar trees on a mountainside. Thanks for the memorable stay!

“We loved it!” Cosy Cottage is a very nice place to stay. We really enjoyed our 3 nights there. It is close enough to the sites in the area to be convenient but it is tucked away in a country setting so it is quiet and refreshing. It is private and extremely clean, neat and well kept. “Luxury with Rustic Charm” Our extended family spent a week in Robert's wonderful log home over July 4th. We had sixteen people, so we separated for sleeping, but spent our communal time spreading out in this gorgeous and comfortable log home. Every night we had a fire in the fire pit and we loved cooking dinner on the incredible commercial stove each night. Becky the caretaker that lives next door was so helpful, she even brought us extra lawn chairs so we could all sit out on the porch. We loved the feeling of living in the wilderness, but with easy access to Whitefish and Glacier we could still experience all the area had to offer. Thank you so much for a comfortable, luxurious place to stay.

About Whitefish

Nestled within the gorgeous wilderness of central Montana, Whitefish is a year-round destination for outdoor sports and adventure. What a great place! My friends and I spent 3 nights here to ski and celebrate New Year's Eve. The property was exactly as described and very clean upon arrival. The cottage is well furnished and nicely decorated and the bed in the bunkhouse is so comfortable!! All the kitchen amenities were there too! The location of the property was perfect for the group I was with; a short drive to the ski hill, to x-country skiing, and to downtown. As well, the owners were quick to respond to any questions I had over email. I would recommend this property without question to anyone travelling to Whitefish whether with a group of friends or for a family getaway. I can't wait to go back! … see more

Great weekend relaxing

This was truly a great cosy cottage. My girlfriend and I are both wildlife biologists in southwest Montana, and with glacier closed we had no ultimate goal of a place to go, and this place was a perfect weekend away and we never left, we were either on the porch drinking coffee or bbqing and drinking wine, watching the deer in the field, or lounging inside reading and enjoying the view. Magnificent Custom Built Log Home
Quintessential Montana Log Cabin

We found Robert's cabin online and, looking at the pictures, new straight away this would be the perfect place. I emailed Robert and arranged our stay. He was very friendly and helpful and even agreed to us bringing along the furry members of our family. My husbands parents and aunt and Uncle travelled up from Chattanooga, TN and were looking forward to the week at the cabin as much as we were. Quite simply we had the best Christmas I have had since being a small child. The cabin was absolutely perfect! The setting is beautiful and the cabin looks wonderful nestled amongst the trees and snow. I love the huge wrap around porch and large logs. We walked in and were greeted with a huge vaulted ceiling, comfortable lounge and wood stove and staircase leading up to the loft area. Then another beautiful stone fireplace by the large dining table. The kitchen was fantastic, so roomy with the large central bench and stove, I couldn't wait to roast our 20 pound turkey. We continued to explore, laying claim to the master bedroom and found the beautiful main bathroom with spa and large shower then the roomy bedrooms upstairs. The kids all quickly raced up to the loft and chose their beds. We set up our Christmas tree and it completed the picture for a dream holiday stay. We stayed for 5 nights and wondered how we would ever leave. It was the most perfect week, the location, the cabin, the food the company. Great location and amenities!

We stayed at this mountainside condo a few times. It's halfway up Big Mountain and offers lots to do, summer and winter.It's also a quick trip to Whitefish, as well as a great place for a home base if you're planning to spend your days in Glacier National Park. The association has an outdoor and indoor pool and tennis courts, if you're not up for hiking. It's nice and quiet and very scenic. Some nights we'd just go for walks around the neighborhood after supper instead of swim. There are also nice hiking trails from Ptarmigan Village to Big Mountain. The condo has large bedrooms and a great view of the western sky and those beautiful sunsets. The kitchen is well stocked and has an outdoor grill on the back deck. The main room is up one level and has a fireplace, deck and huge windows. You feel like you're living up in the trees! It's nicely decorated, too. … see more
