Our attractive and inviting Alpine Holiday home is located within the quiet, scenic and centrally located Bavaria Town of Ettensberg. We are surrounded by beautiful views of the nearby mountains and central to all the sites, sounds and smells that make for a fabulous alpine holiday.
The nearest airport is Memmingen which is about 35-45minutes drive from our holiday apartments. The airport is also serviced by a bus and train link that can take you from the airport to out town.

We are located in Ettensberg where shops, restaurants, train station and the Tourist Information Office is within walking distance. On our doorstep you will be surrounded by mountain views, beautiful lakes including the Grosser Alpsee, endless summer sports, the Alpsee-Gruenten Ski slopes, Oberstdorf Ski Slopes, the Starzlachklamm Gorge and much more.

Oberstdorf and surrounding Ski Slopes!
Within a short 10 minute drive from our Alpine Apartment you will find Oberstdorf Germany’s most southern Town. As well as many alpine activities that will send your pulse racing, Oberstdorf has many great shopping opportunities and restaurants and bars. A highlight in the winter program is the World Class Ski Jump Tournament in January.
The Nearby Skidorado
There is not just Oberstdorf - one of Germany’s most well known destinations - but also many other loved and visited winter sport destinations are nearby to satisfy your alpine sporting needs. Here in Swabia, you have access to Germay’s biggest winter sport region!
Das Höchste is the name for the region with the highest ski lifts in Swabia. Included is the Nebelhorn, Fellhorn, Kanzelwand and all the ski lifts in the Kleinwalsertal. Also included however are the Hörnerbahnen in Bolsterlang and Ofterschwang, where annually the Ski-Weltcup takes place! They are ideal for families as there is something for all levels and abilities. Grasgehren and Balderschwang are also known as ski regions with guarenteed snow. Bad Hindelang and Oberjoch forms the pass through to the famous Tannheimertal - renowned as a cross country ski region - and it offers superb runs especially for fun filled toboggan rides! Great value for money is offered by the Allgäu-Gletscher-Card which enables discounted access to over 50 ski regions in Swabia!
But please don’t be mistaken, Oberstdorf and its alpine surroundings just is just as much fun in the summer as in the winter. It is truly an ALL YEAR ROUND holiday destination!
In the town of Tiefenbach, not far from our holiday home, you will find one of Swabia’s favourite destinations - die Breitachklamm. (The Breitach Gorge). Here, the streaming water of the 2.5km long gorge flows through narrow passes within high rock formations next to a tightly constructed walk way. You can hear the thunder of the water crashing through the pass and at the same time, you can see the unchanged natural surroundings of the Breitachklamm in all its beauty.
After visiting the Breitach, you can set forth on beautiful walks that start right by the Breitachklamm. Why need round of a perfect day of sight seeing and walking with a typical hearty Bavarian meal and well deserved beer or two at the Dornachalpe or Sesselalpe? Sound like a good idea? We think so.
Allgäu Skyline Park
Several times in a row now the theme park of Allgäu Skyline Park has been voted the best value for money theme park in the whole of Europe! Here there is fun to be had for not just the kiddies but also the adults amongst us! Other than the Sky Wheel (the highest vertical lift in the World!) there are many other Adrenalin Hits, Family Hits and lots of other fun filled things for the kids!
KÖNIGLICHE KRISTALL-THERME- SCHWANGAU (Thermal Baths)
Set in one of Bavaria’s most stunning spots, you will find the magnificent königliche Kristall-Therme.
With the sensational Schloss Neuschwanstein in the background, you can indulge and pamper yourself in thermanl baths, sauna, wellness and delicious gastronomic delights! For all those that want to spoil themselves or some one special, this would be our secret tip!
With a historic Old Town, the holy Crescentia, Jordan Park, the Fünfknopfturm, Theatre, St.-Martins-Church, historic Townhall, and numerous Exhibitions and Shopping possibilities, Kaufbeuren is regarded as one of Swabia’s most beautiful destinations.

The Benediktinerabtei Ottobeuren (Abbey of Ottobeuren) started its long history in 764. It is the largest and most famous baroque Monastery in the World and is home to many international concerts. Rounding of the destination are several other holiday activity centres for example Golf at Golfplatz Boschach, or water therapy at Kneipp Therapie and the indoor sport centre at Günztal-Freizeit-Sportcenter.

LINDERHOF, OBERAMMERGAU UND ETTAL (100km)
Within close proximity to one another you can visit one King Ludwig’s famous fairytale castle, Schloss Linderhof, or the Baroque Basilica Kloster Ettal, as well as the Famous Passion Play in Oberammergau. All this makes for a fantastic day trip that offers both culture and history.
GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN (111 km)
Host of the 1936 Winter Olympics, Garmisch-Patenkirchen is, like Oberstdorf, one of the biggest Wintersport destinations in Germany. It also has a beautiful historical town centre and splendid cultural and sporting facilities. From here you can also visit the splendid Gorge - Partnachklamm.
ZUGSPITZE UND EIBSEE (100 km)
At 2962 metres, Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany. You can access the peak of the mountain with either a gondela or ski lift. The stunning mountain panorama, and the close by Eibsee where you can cool your feet, make this fabulous day trip option!
The Bavarian Lakes (136km)
In Bavaria there are countless beautiful, pristine lakes that you can discover one one of your day trips. Some examples include the Starnberger See, Walchensee, Staffelsee and the Ammersee. Any of these lakes are popular destinations for water sport enthusiasts, hiking or shopping. Or just simply relax and enjoy the idyllic surroundings! The little Seaside towns of Ammerland, Andechs (with the famous dark beer of the Monks!), Diessen and Zwergen all make for great visits.
MUNICH (150 km)
Germany’s third largest city and without doubt one of its most beautiful, Munich is always worth a visit, or two, or three … ! It is a very cultural, scenic, and happy-go-lucky city. After one too many beers at the Hofbrau Haus, just make sure however, you don’t miss your train back!
KONSTANZ SCHWEIZ (2 Hours, 110 km)
In the historic City of Konstanz you will become witness to over 200 years of History. With memorable views over the water and towards the Alps, Konstanz has a special charm.
Innsbruck, Austria (140 km)

The capital of the region Voralberg, Bregenz lies on the Austrian side of Lake Constance and has a fabulous view of the Alps. From here you can also take relaxing boat tours or between Juli and August, you can visit the famous Bregenz town festival.
