Brand new local Vermont stone patio with firepit- perfect for a Vermont evening!
Located just south of the Woodstock Country Club golf course off of Route 106, Maplewoods is a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath professionally decorated luxury home located just two miles from the Woodstock Village Green. Maplewoods sits on five acres of private forest on a gentle hillside, with miles of surrounding woods waiting to be explored. On the north side of the house, just off the patio, a babbling brook runs in a series of beautiful waterfalls down the hillside, creating the perfect 'soundtrack' for your Vermont stay. Feel free to sit and watch and listen to the beautiful waterfalls, or, if you'd like to, just climb in and splash around yourself!
WE INVITE YOU TO VIEW A VIDEO OF THE BEAUTIFUL WATERFALLS THAT RUN ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OF THE HOUSE! You can view a video of our daughter playing in these waterfalls by clicking on the video shown among our photos, or searching "Maplewoods Vacation Home Running Waterfalls Woodstock" on You Tube.
On the west side of the house, the front lawn gently slopes down the hill and presents a beautiful view of the farm and hillsides on the other side of the valley. Maplewoods has two master bedroom suites with king sized memory foam/gel beds. The Maplewoods suite is an oversized master with a sitting area, office/library, and en suite bathroom with a two person jetted tub. The River Suite (my favorite, when we sleep with the windows open) sits on the north side of the house, near the waterfalls running down the side of our hill. (That sound gives me the best sleep of my life!) Both master suites have large flat screen televisions with cable. Maplewoods has two additional large bedrooms upstairs. The Sweet Dreams room has a queen sized bed and the Victorian room has two twins with antique headboards.
Maplewoods has a large, modern, and well equipped chef's kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances including a built in wine chiller and a television to watch the morning news. We have stocked our kitchen with high end cookware, knives, etc, providing all the equipment and utensils you need to create your own gourmet meals with Vermont's natural bounty. An elegant eight person dining table provides the perfect setting for your feast in the dining room. For more casual meals, the kitchen's granite breakfast bar provides seating for those who want to chat with the cook while waiting for their pancakes.
Off the back of the open breakfast bar sits a comfortable hearth / living room warmed by our wood burning fireplace. This room opens on to the spacious deck with comfortable patio dining for eight. The deck sits on the north side of the house, next to the babbling waterfalls running down the hill, providing an excellent setting for a relaxing outdoor meal. Also downstairs is a spacious family / entertainment room with a large flat screen television and plenty of comfy seating. We have another casual gaming / dining area centered around a gorgeous, hand scraped, rich hardwood table. This is a perfect location for sharing a bottle of wine, a rousing game of clue, and a few hands of poker (or 'go fish.')
We have taken great care to create a supremely luxurious, professionally decorated, yet eminently comfortable setting for you to enjoy on your Vermont vacation. We invite you to stay in our vacation home and enjoy the peaceful woods, babbling waterfall, and glorious views that made us fall in love with Vermont ourselves.

What an absolutely amazing vacation! We have stayed at a few different homes in the Woodstock area, but we have now found our "home away from home."
We were pleasantly surprised when we first drove up to the house, it was like driving into the actual photographs we saw on the listing. They very accurately showed the house (this isn't always so, in our experience) but the photos didn't do it justice.
My husband, who loves to cook, absolutely fell in love with the kitchen. I had to force him to go out do dinner a few times, he just wanted to stay at home and cook!
I loved sitting on the front porch in the morning with my coffee and watching the sun come up and cover the hills across the valley. A few times we had dinner on the deck, listening to the sound of the brook. The last few days, the evenings were a bit cool, so we stayed inside and sat in front of the fire to warm up. This was really the nicest home we've ever stayed at in the area, and it was really hard to leave. The only reason we managed to go home is because we knew we would be back!

This beautiful home is sited on a stunning, private hillside location just past the Woodstock Inn's golf course. The homeowners have created an oasis of comfort and coziness that surpasses all other rental properties in our experience. The owners are very responsive to inquiries and provide organized and complete information about the house and surrounding area. The house is equipped with everything a guest could need! It was tempting to spend each day relaxing on the deck with a good book, views of the surrounding hills and the sound of the waterfall but Woodstock offers so many events and activities, we couldn't sit still! There are walking, biking and hiking opportunities on the property, country roads and local trails. We visited nearby farms and farmers markets for local cheeses, breads, wines and produce and enjoyed cooking in Maplewoods' great kitchen. We did most of our Christmas shopping at the craft fairs and local shops. There are more restaurants than we had time to try; as well as local concerts, theaters, historic properties and activities for all ages. Great coffee at the Daily Grind. We will definitely return during ski season and hope to try some fly fishing in warmer weather as well. Maplewoods is a vacation home for all seasons.
