Belfast, United KingdomAbsolutely Wonderful apartment
Left on 05/03/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My husband, his mother and I had a fantastic three night stay at this gorgeous apartment. Isabel was there to greet us on arrival and was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment is in a quiet residential location but is within easy walking distance to just about anywhere in Barcelona. There are also bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. The apartment is just lovely. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds are really comfortable and the en suite bathroom is pure luxury. The apartment is also spotless. Isabel was really understanding when my husband had an unfortunate accident with a glass coffee table, we were absolutely mortified about it. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough.

GlasgowExcellent accommodation in an excellent location

The apartment was just as described on the website and provided everything we needed for a most enjoyable stay in a magnificent city. The location was perfect, being quiet in the evenings and with "real" Barcelona bars and restaurants close to hand.
Isabel provided us with directions and advice on where to eat, how to get about etc., all of which proved very useful. -

Brisbane, AustraliaA fantastic stay at a fantastic apartment.
Left on 12/22/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We had a fabulous 3 night stay in apartment 1B. It began with prompt and helpful communication and the booking process was very easy. On arrival we received a very friendly greeting from Isobel, who was happy to talk us through her recommendations for local eats, grocers etc, to compliment the detailed and useful information provided in the apartment handbook. Isobel had taken care to ensure that the basics had been provided in the kitchen (tea, coffee etc) including fresh milk and a bottle of cava! (She also provided a thoughtful little gift for our children and became an immediate friend).
The apartment itself is lovely and is finished to a very high standard. It is a wonderful combination of restored period features and modern fittings and fixtures. The kitchen is well equipped for any holiday cooking, the bathroom is small but well thought out (no bathtub) and the main living area – which is where you spend most of your time if you are indoors - is spacious. The bedrooms are a little on the small side, especially the second bedroom but it was perfect for our family of four. Our boys enjoyed sharing the small second bedroom and actually delighted in its size and the window overlooking the interior light well.
The apartment has excellent Wifi service; the TV has some cable channels including English language channels, as well as a dozen or so Dvds. Also provided are a great range of reading materials, with Barcelona/Spain guide books aplenty and a small collection of fiction and nonfiction.
We found the location to be excellent. We primarily got around by walking, so we just headed off in a different direction every day to see what we would find. It is a reasonably quiet residential neighbourhood. We found a number of places in short walking distance to buy groceries, wine etc. And we were able to find the main sites using the Hoho, or simply walking. Eg. With children 5 and 9, we found it a pretty easy walk to Sagrada Familia.
We used the aC at night so the traffic noise in the mornings from the road (outside the balcony doors off the main bedroom), was not a problem for us. We would never trade a balcony for “peace” – we like to be able to see what’s going on outside, especially as we are often in at night with our younger children, but it’s nice to be able to shut up the balcony doors and turn the aC on.
We had an absolutely delightful stay in Barcelona and wished we had booked for more than just the 3 nights. This city is amazing, this apartment is beautiful and Isobel could not have been more helpful. -

VeveyOur third stay at Sweet Home Barcelona
Left on 10/07/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Well, the title says it all. This is our third longterm stay at Sweet Home Barcelona and we enjoy it more and more each time. This time we stayed in Flat 1a, which is just as marvellous as Flat 1B, albeit a bit bigger and with a view onto the inner courtyard instead of the street. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the enclosed deck watching the activity taking place - a neighbour playing ball with his white pet rabbit was a highlight. The apartment caters to all our needs - good wifi, good air conditioning, which is a must in the Spanish summer, a well-equipped kitchen and marvellous interior decoration. And of course, the marvellous location, close to bus routes, the metro and within easy walking distance to many of the wonderful sites Barcelona has to offer. There is a supermarket in the same block and of course the ubiquitous corner cafés are always open for a quick vino and tapa or two. Not to mention the superb restaurants, again, all within walking distance. Another thing that keeps us returning, is the impeccable and very kind service on offer by Isabel and Mike. They are outstanding hosts and this goes a long way to making our stays there so special. Sweet Home Barcelona has become our fix for summer and we will keep on returning as long as we are able to.
