London, United KingdomSimply amazing in more ways than one. A piece of paradise.
Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Everything about these rental homes is fantastic.
Bocas del toro town is rather hectic and noisy, however we wanted to stay on the mainland so we could go and explore every day.
We were more than pleasantly surprised to arrive at the orange house.
After a day of travel and then seeing the life of Bocas town we were delighted to find our new home for a few days was close enough to everything to walk in 15 mins or 0.50$ in a cab and far enough away to be in complete paradise.
The house itself is beautiful, overlooking the amazingly still waters - which you could simply sit and look at for hours. The varandera is a perfect setting for morning breakfast. Sundowners or simply to chill out.
We heard a few bad stories of theft on bocas and felt nothing but safe here.
The house itself has everything you need, a plush bathroom, large lounge/diner space and fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs the bedroom is huge, with a welcomed aC machine and then to top it all an amazing balcony with a perfect spot for a hammock and more room to view the still waters.
This really is a place where you can switch off.
Our trip was unfortunately interrupted with an abrupt accident. My husband broke his arm in the waters at Bluff beach. As you can imagine being some where so remote and with no knowledge of doctors etc we were in somewhat of an awful situation. However Claudia and her husband were amazing and did everything they could to help us, from making us feel more in control, ice packs right through to taking us to the airport and begging the local airline to take us even though the flight was full. Claudia was even able to recommend a hospital and surgeon in Panama and made an appointment on our behalf, we simply wouldn't have known what to do if it were not for Claudia and her family. They have even stayed in contact to see how we are. The family live next door which is another reason you feel rather safe in this house and they are nothing but polite, informative and welcoming.
Back to the nicer parts of the trip. My husband managed to do some fishing from the side of the house, a real treat and so nice to be able to do something like that from the comfort of your own varenda.
We thoroughly recommend, Bocas, the over the water rentals - all houses are fab, but the orange one has the best views and the hosts themselves are awesome. -

Minneapolis, MinnesotaQuiet Neighborhood on Busy Island
Left on 01/19/2013 for a stay in August 2012
My husband and I stayed in the Purple House for a week. These bungalows are in a very quiet and safe neighborhood about a 15 minute walk from Bocas Town (or a .50 taxi ride!). After spending the day in Bocas Town or on a tour with a bunch of other people, it was nice to return to our bungalow and sit and read in the hammock. We took a peek at the Orange Bungalow as well and it was beautiful!! Too bad it was booked during our stay. But the houses are very clean and comfortable. A safe is in the bedroom and all the windows and doors lock if you're worried about your things. There is generally someone always there anyways in the main house. Nearby, there are some local restaurants which was a nice change from the busier places in town and also a grocery store a few minutes away if you choose to cook yourself!

Left on 01/18/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We stayed here for one week with our 3-year old kid and the house couldn't have been better. It was relaxing enough just to stay at home at stare at the sea, and our daughter loved playing in the terrace. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen in all the apartments we've ever rented, a pleasure to cook!
The neighbourhood gave us a feeling of real life in Bocas del Toro with all the children playing in the street. The walk to the centre is not bad in the evening and taxis are cheap, but we strongly recommend to rent bicycles to explore surroundings.
Claudia and her husband were always helpful whatever you needed to ask. Highly recommended! We wish we could come back one day!Response from claudia palm - 01/20/2013

My wife and myself stayed here for 4 days and really enjoyed the 'Orange House.' Close to Bocas town but in a quieter area with a gorgeous view from the deck. The house has everything you would need and is esthetically very pleasing in decor and layout.. A great spot to feel part of the community in a tranquil setting with a Caribbean vibe. Highly recommended.

Volvereee

my partner and me were looking for a peaceful and comfortable house at the sea and we found exactly what we were looking for. we stayed at the orange house and had an amazing time. the owners live right next to the house and they are super friendly and helpful. you are well taken care of. everything is perfectly clean, the kitchen fully equipped and we had some wonderful dinners on the balcony overlooking the bay. it is quiet and not too far away from the busy town centre. we did a 3-week spanish course at the habla ya language school. from the house, we could easily walk to the school within 10 minutes. we looked through so many accommodations before deciding on this one and we also asked our fellow students about their accommodation during our stay. and we truly believe we hit the jackpot. :) thanks, claudi, for the amazing time and for being so kind and helpful.

My wife Melody and I spent a fabulous week in the Orange house. From the first day, Claudia was the perfect host. She met us at the airport and provided great recommendations on what to do for the week, from the La Buga dive shop to wonderful restaurants, it was incredible.
The house was great. Waking up in the morning and stepping out on the porch to enjoy a cup of coffee, feeling breeze off the bay was wonderful. We had everything we needed. There is an aC in the bedroom but we really never needed it. Just open the windows and doors to the beautiful bay breeze.
Melody and I would recommend overthewaterrentals and Bocas Town without exception. we loved it and plan to return. -

I really enjoyed my stay at the Orange House. It had everything I needed, great Wifi, 2 decks to hang out on over the water!! A nice king size bed, air conditioning if you needed. I felt safe, and comfortable there. The hosts were next door, available and helpful, but not intrusive. The location was alittle outside of the town, but easy walking distance, or a quick cheap taxi trip. Grocery store a block away. Thank you Claudia!!

Boston, MAbeautiful time, lovely lodging!
Left on 06/12/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Once I found the purple house in Saigon, I have never stayed anywhere else. I always feel so at home! The amenities are unparalleled: comfortable bedrooms replete with aC, table lamp, and walk in-closet; a true kitchen; lots of windows/light; a porch with sofa and hammock...everything you need to make your home-away-from-home is at arm's reach - you can experience true living. The hospitality is wonderful; your run on the beach is two minutes away. There's also a fantastic balance between living in the community and having your own private space -- this is a rarity in Bocas. If you want to truly vacation while feeling immersed in Panama, this is your spot!

Left on 04/04/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Two of us spent a week in The Orange House. Claudia (the owner) met us at the airport and provided the taxi ride to the house. From the moment we walked through the door we loved the place. There was a view of the water from almost every window. The kitchen / living room is bright and sunny. The house was very clean and has a great large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and we woke to a view of the water each day. The deck was our favorite spot. We looked forward to coming home (after our days of adventures) to a cocktail and the wonderful sunsets from our comfy adirondack chairs. The house is located about a 10 minute walk from town. I would recommend walking the side road closest to the water to avoid the taxi traffic. There is a large grocery store less then 2 blocks away that has just about everything you may need. Claudia lives next door and is always available to answer any questions you may have. Another great source of informatiom was our taxi driver Marlin. He can pick you up and drop you off right at your door. He also has good advice about where to eat and places to see. This was a great place to hang your hat and relax to the sound of the lapping water all around. Hope to come back...

My husband and I were recently in the Orange House for a week...what a tremendous time we had! The house has everything you need, is close to the beach and is close enough to town, but far enough away. We enjoyed Claudia's recommendations for restaurants and activities. Claudia is a great host. Thanks for a great time!

My husband and I rented the one bedroom house for just over a month during December/January.
It was our 2nd stay in Bocas and we were familiar with the Saigon area. The owners of Over The Water Rentals, Claudia and Marlin could not have been nicer as I had been communicating with Claudia for months before our stay.
Everything was just right when we got there. It is just like having your own place right over the water in a very calm bay. Claudia lives next door and was very helpful with any questions we had. The whole atmosphere was great. We had a good time meeting the other renters in the cabins behind us. We are looking forward to a return trip! -

Newport Beach, CAGreat Place to Stay
Left on 10/09/2010 for a stay in September 2010
I stayed in this unit during September 2010 with my girlfriend. (This was our second visit to Bocas) The owner and her family live in their house next door, and they are great. The house is over the water, and it is like having your own house in Bocas, for the price for a crappy-decent room, since the unit has a full kitchen and separate bedroom. The owner, Claudia, is respectful of privacy but very often available with a yell over to her dock for information about the town or tours or Bocas in general.
Staying here is like staying in the guest house of your cool friends that live in paradise.Response from claudia palm - 10/17/2010
