“One of a kind property!” What an amazing vacation home! Complete privacy, with 300 acres to play and roam around in. If you are looking for an awesome family get away, this place is like no other. My family and I have stayed here many times - it feels like our second home (wish it was!!). Mike and Holly are incredibly gracious hosts, you really do feel like you are their personal guests. Their pooches Ben and Sadie are also a big draw for our kids. I cannot recommend this home enough. You will be amazed and want to come back!

Jefferson Farms Natural Fibers
Just what the doctor ordered :-)

What an incredible adventure for 3 days. This property is located about 3 miles outside of Salida on an alpaca Farm with Incredible accommodations... getting fresh eggs toppped things off. We also were able to bring our two dogs and have plenty of room for them to play outside and enjoy themselves. The staff is incredible and extremely friendly and helpful to meet all your needs. This is a must do location to stay at while in Salida. Thanks for this great experience!!see more

Fairy tale vacation

We came to Colorado for a funeral. We have a large family and finding a cabin that can accommodate us was a struggle. I looked at this cabin a couple times but was not sure it would work. After much discussion my husband and I decided to rent. Our group grew larger as others came for the funeral and struggled to find a cabin. Cindy was so accommodating answering questions and providing reassurance that the cabin would hold everyone. Cindy even purchased 2 additional twin mattresses so we could have some extras for the kids to sleep on the floors in the rooms. When we arrived at the cabin my jaw hit the floor. It is stunning and twice as big as I had hoped for. There were 2 bedrooms upstairs and a tv room with a pull out couch/bed. The tv room and one of the upstairs rooms had a closet that was big enough to function as a bedroom and 2 or our teens claimed those closets throwing a mattress down and having the privacy that teens crave. The main floor has a huge master bedroom and bathroom with another walk in closet that could easily accommodate a teen on the floor with a twin mattress. We have 8 kids and even with all that room they preferred the bunk house. It was close enough to the cabin that the internet still worked on their phones (very important to a teen) yet far enough away to grant them their feelings of independence. The upstairs had a full and a twin bed and the main floor had a full sized bed. My mom and I were amazed at all the room out there. It really could have been used as a bunk house with beds lining the walls to the upstairs. The room that most of my kids spent their time in was on the main floor. They had a ping pong table set up and my kids spent house playing together. The big porches on the front and back were amazing to sit on and watch the clouds dance over the mountains. There were a few days where they had rain storms in the mountains and it was amazing to see the rain pour down on the different mountains. We ate outside at the big table on the covered porch. We grilled over the fire. They have an amazing fire pit. We did not get a chance to use the smoker but that looked like it could handle a crowd as well. The kitchen is amazing and set up to handle large crowds. There are 2 refrigerators and 2 ovens. A kitchen sink and a sink in the pantry. The pantry is bigger than my walk in closet at home and was stocked with many items. With a family our size we prefer to avoid going out to eat on vacation due to the fact that it quickly adds thousands to our trips. The kitchen had all the utensils we could need. This is the first cabin that we have stayed at in Colorado that had large pots and pans. We were able to make a large amount of food in one put instead of using 3 small pans. (Side note we did make pancakes and there was not a griddle and we did use 3 pans to make them) the range had 5 burners and could easily accommodate them all. We are outside for our meals and the big dining room table was converted into a puzzle/ board game table. My kids laughter and teasing echoed through the cabin every night. All of them told me repeatedly that this was the best cabin we have ever stayed in. My 14 year old discovered the basement. There is a recliner and a large tv down there. He would have loved it if we had thrown an air mattress down there and left him to his own devices. We did not but he did spend quite a bit of time down their enjoying to cool quiet that basements provide. My husband told me that there was also an empty chest freezer down there that was plugged in. We could have made freezer meals before we came and kept it all frozen until it was ready to cook. There is a grocery store and multiple fishing spots 10-15 away from the cabin. My 17 year old spent as much time as he could fishing. A 5 day fishing license was only $33 for an out of state resident. There were amazing ice cream shops in town. We would eat dinner at home and then drive into town for desert. I wish I could remember their names but honestly their were multiple ones. We visited the ones that had long lines and they didn’t disappoint. We didn’t get a chance to stop but there was a park with a beach near one of the ice cream shops that looked amazing. We will have to save that for next time. It was an amazing trip and the cabin was done well. There were plates and cups to feed an army. We made generals chicken one night and had to bread and fry the chicken but could not find a utensil to scoop the chicken out of the hot grease and did purchase one but we left it in the drawers so it there ready and waiting for you. Side notes: The horse were so friendly coming to the fence for pets. The hot springs were amazing. The play house is a little girls dream and was named Abbie’s kitchen by our 5 year old. We found a huge moth outside that we thought was a bat. We went panning for gold and found some ;)see more

We stayed for several days at the guest house on the property. The home had plenty of room and views. The owners were very pleasant to deal with through the entire process as well as during our stay. They were great in spending the time with us to walk around and show us their property. We all enjoyed the privacy of their property and the access to the hiking trails and private fishing ponds. They also had 2 of the nicest dogs (Ben and Sadie), that we joked were our own personal tour guides while we stayed there. The views of the mountains and the stars at night were fantastic. The fire pit was also a big hit in the evenings. Our trip could not have gone any better. We are already planning on when we can get back up to this place next year.see more
