Description

Vista Verde Retreat Center is a rural vacation rental in the high desert forest of northern New Mexico. This beautiful compound is tucked away among old juniper and piñon pines. If you like being in nature, but prefer not to rough it too much, this place is for you. The property itself is on 45 acres, with 3 hiking loops in the natural surroundings. A sense of serenity is pervasive as you wind your way through the compound. You will notice the retreat is designed for you to deepen your connection with the land and allow the tensions from daily life to dissolve.

ACCOMMODATIONS for up to 25, (19 beds total). The Main House, The Ranch House, The Q House + 5 Casitas (little houses):

The Main House, (1800+ square feet): 3 bedrooms, a full bathroom, a half bath upstairs, a kiva-style living room w/ wood stove/fireplace, a dining room that seats 16, and full & well-equipped kitchen. This house sleeps 7-9, (3 twin beds, 2 king beds + 1 queen).

The Straw Bale Casita: a one-room straw bale bungalow with a queen bed and half bath. Sleeps 2.

The Adobe Casita: a one-room adobe bungalow with a full bed. Sleeps 2. (There is no plumbing in this little building. The Main House is only 50 steps away).

The Green Hut: one twin bed, close to the Main House, no plumbing but solar electricity for phone charging and a lamp, as well as propane heat.

There is another full bathroom and another single shower room in the Studio, too. (The Studio is for retreat groups such as yoga and dance, but the bathrooms are available for groups over 5).

The Ranch House is a lovely 950 sf adobe house with 3 BRs and 2 baths, 2 king beds and 1 queen bed.

The Ranch Casita had two twin beds and a full bathroom.

The Q: is a beautiful 950 sf adobe house with a full bath and kitchen. This house sleeps 4 - 6. In addition to the king bed, the 2 comfortable sofa beds can fit 2 small people each. This house has an open floor plan with a sleeping alcove. (There are no actual bedrooms.)

The Stick Casita: is a little house w/ 1 bedroom with a full bed and a twin bed as well as another twin bed in the living room. There is a full bathroom in this cute little abode. Sleeps 3.

Lastly, we have 5 tent sites for the warmer months. $20/night if the entire place is rented.

We recommend an incredible cook, as well as other services such as massage, music, and yoga on site. So whether or not you want local art, active adventure, indigenous culture, or a relaxing soak, every evening you will find yourself in the peaceful quietude of the surrounding forest and its natural inhabitants. This is an excellent getaway for groups, families, or harried individuals in search of peace. The roads are passable year-round, but a 4WD or AWD is highly recommended in winter snow and spring mud.

There is a wonderful caretaker who lives on the property. She will welcome you with a brief orientation. Since she is just across the road, so she is available for emergency and non-emergency needs.
