Description
“A Casa da Avó Clementina”, The house of Grandmother Clementina, home to where my grandparents used to live, was the target to a careful refurbishment in such a way that would honor them and make the time they used to live in, last forever.
It is situated in a calm area in the centre of Funchal (Rua Beco Santa Emília), totally renewed with caring decoration, this house is here to serve you with all the comfort on the Island of Madeira. The house is close to the Cathedral (Sé of Funchal), the Farmers Market, the old town of the city, the Marina and the Wine Museum (about 5 to 10 minutes on foot). There are several amenities also such as a bakery and a fruit shop which are about 30metres away, and about 100metres distance you have supermarkets, pharmacies and all other types of commerce.
There can be transport from the airport to the house made available at the cost of 30€ and there is also parking close (5meters) by for 5€ per day.
If you rent a car and do not choose to park in the garage, has a parking 350 meters from the house, 1 minute by car, 3 minutes walk from this parking of 7PM to 8AM is free of charge, every hour costs 0.50 cents.
The daily price lowers due to duration of the stay.
The climate of Madeira varies between 19ºC and 24ºC. Funchal is located in the picturesque bay of the Islands capital which is situated between the blue of the sea and the green of the mountains. This city with its renovated airs is involved in old squares, traditional buildings and gardens with colourful and exotic gardens. The city was awarded the gold medal from the European floral competition in the year 2000.
Funchal is the most attractive centre of Madeira with its wide variety of offers such as museums, the cathedral, cinemas, the theatre, commerce and its traditional market (Mercado dos Lavradores) where you can find a wide range of fruit, vegetables, fish, flowers and much more… in the old town, about 5 to 10 minutes walk from the residence, there is a great quantity of restaurants and traditional shops. On the port and Marina area, you wil encounter many boating excursions to see whales and dolphins.
With a 20 to 40 minute drive there are 2 golf clubs where you can play and you can also try out the famous “Levada” walks or trails.
