      What a Joy

Left on 02/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Our stay in Granada was very brief, our arrival (and meeting with rental company (GPS Nicaragua) was quick, we raced in to drop our luggage and were off to see the sites. Upon our arrival we were immediately at ease and very excited to spend some time at the house. We were traveling with 4 adults and 4 kids (a first for us) ranging from age 6-17. The house was the perfect size for us. Good size living area, rooms and bathrooms. We spent limited time at the house and wished we had more time there. We did not use the kitchen, however it appeared to have all the basics. The only real complaint we had were the linens and towels (all rooms) had consistent questionable stains on towels and sheets (upstairs master also had really slow draining shower & lack of shower curtains, not sure if anyone could actually see in). Fortunately (due to my germaphobia) it was not a problem as we came prepared with travel sheets and towels. The house is conveniently located walking distance to everything, including a small liquor store right next door (open until 12am), the employees at this place were incredibly friendly and were eager to offer travel tips and restaurant suggestions. This brief stay left us wanting more and we cannot wait to return to Granada (and Casa Yalula)!

Wedding family group who just loved it!

Left on 06/10/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Had a great time in Granada and Casa Yalua was a big part of it! My two small granddaughters taking swimming lessons loved the pool. Friends staying in other houses would walk in and go wow, What a Pool! The street noise was a little high but just to see TV but did not bother my granddaughters. Take your own washer and dryer supplies, body soap and toilet paper, or buy it there. Though we never cooked anything, the kitchen was very well stocked with everything you needed to prepare a meal and serve it. Check in and out was very pleasant as was the young girl waiting for us in the house. We have great pictures and memoires of the house and Granada!

I am so happy you enjoyed Casa Yalula. The pool is the greatest feature of the house and it is the only one like it in Granada. Yes, the street noise does tend to be a bit high in the city and I am glad it did not bother your granddaughters. We hope to see you again in Granada and we are very proud you liked the house and the staff at GPS.

      big and noisy

Left on 05/17/2011 for a stay in February 2011

We recieved great service. The office staf was very helpful and the staf in the house was very good and friendly.Someone waited for us to arrive at 11.30 PM, handed us the keys, showed us around and left us a cell phone and their card in case we needed anything. There was plenty of fruit, juice and milk, bread and cereal as well as coffee for breakfast. We had expected our friends and /or children to join us; this did not happen and the house was too big for us. I loved the huge pool around which the house was built. The part we did not like, was the large room in front with the television/ DVD player. The street outside was so noisy- it is next to a bar- that it was hard to understand the TV talk. There was no comfortable chair and the beds, doubling as coutches were hard for us to get up from. I was glad I had my I Pad to read on becausse at night none of the lights were bright enough to read by.In a house where the energy use is so high, don't you change the light bulbs to Leds? The kitchen was great and very well equipped. My dream: an electric oven and a gas stove! Only problem was that the wind blew the gas sideways and inefficient at times. I loved the birds in the morning and at night, we even had some resident parrots.

      Great location, great layout

Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in January 2011

I recently stayed in Casa Yalula. We were a party of two families, 4 adults and 4 teenagers.

Casa Yalula is located one and a half blocks from the central park of Granada in the historic district of town. It is close to everything: attractions, restaurants, landmarks, shopping.

As for the layout of the house one can not help but complement the owners because in the recent remodelling done to the property; they designed the house in such a way that you always feel invited to spend all your time in the social area of the house (kitchen / family area) sharing your day's events and experiences, eating and drinking with friends and family. The house was also designed in such a way that it keeps street noise (cars, horse-drawn carriages) to a minimum, which is no small feat. The bedrooms are in the back of the house, so you can sleep with zero noise. The house has been well appointed in all its rooms; furniture is simple, pretty and functional, and all rooms are well lit. They even manage to fit a 25 meter, one lane pool into the house, which was a great plus.

Also, the folks from Granada Property Services (GPS) were most helpful and accomodating, and the daily cleaning service was timely and efficient.
