What an awesome view of the ocean from the living room and bedrooms! The unit is on the second floor which was perfect for us. It is also near an elevator which was also very nice when loading & unloading. Although the unit was suppose to come fully furnished there were no towels and no sheets upon our arrival. After a quick phone call to the Emerald Isle rental office that was quickly rectified. The only reason I did not give the unit 5 stars is because the hot water continuously ran out before 2 people could even finish showering (which is a real pain when the unit sleeps 6 but you have to wait forever between showers for everyone to be able to get ready). The realty company did come check the water heater, but unfortunately did not fix the problem.

It was just beautiful and sooo quiet. A great time for a truly peaceful get-away. Everyone was very friendly and accommodated our every request (most before we could make them). The facilities were extensive, all we could have dreamed of!! Took us a couple days to find the laundry facilities, but had fun searching! :)

Great location -- awesome view from the very tiny little deck. All the units in Summer Winds have some sort of view of the ocean, but this one was within just 10 yards of the dunes. It has a perfect view of the beach and ocean. The unit's a/c worked great. Furnishings are "well used" and a bit outdated, but the beds were comfortable and appliances were functional. There were two TVs in the living room, one being disconnected and sitting on the floor. It took a few days to find the washer/dryer, because the key didn't work too easily and I figured the exterior closet was simply locked. (Glad we persisted in looking for it!)
The pools at Summer Winds are very nice. Fitness center is outdated, so I didn't use it. But who cares about exercising in doors -- the beach and ocean are literally a 2 minute walk from your front door. The beach is beautiful, water was pleasant, ghost crabs and crab moles are plentiful. The folks working Summer Winds are great, very pleasant and friendly, though we had little reason to interact with them.
If you like shelling, take the trip to Shackelford Island out of Beaufort. Wow, we collected 50 pounds of awesome shells in 2 hours, some absolutely perfect conchs.
I didn't realize I had to go to Emerald Isle Realty to get the keys. It make sense, but I just didn't figure it out in advance. We just drove back the 10 miles to find the realty office and check-in was a simple drive thru. Very easy process.
Finally, I'll tell you a little funny. We have been to the Outer Banks 9 times over the years, and this was our first visit to Emerald Isle. Though I studied the map of the area and knew the ocean front faces south, I still expected the sun to rise over the ocean! First morning I had to look down the beach to find the sun! When we checked in the staff was frindly and professional. The rooms were clean and bright with a beautiful ocean view. The kitchen was equiped with everything you needed. It was very nice to have a pool and game room on site. Really enjoyed this with the children when it was too hot for outside activities. I loved not having to rent and wash linens. A great week of family fun.

Very nice location with great view. Pools
were great for grandkids. A very safe environment. Clean and well amintained. Staff at Emerlad Isle Realty were exceelnt . Check in an outt unbelievably easy. Very pleased. -

Summer Winds is a very nice community to stay. The choice of having three different pools to use is really nice. We also took advantage of Ginger's Cafe for poolside snacks and drinks. The room was very well appointed with incredible ocean front views. We have stayed at this facility before and we will definitely return.

Are condo could of bin cleaner dishes in the cupboards were not clean I under stand that's not the owners fault and the reality company cant check every condo the bathrooms were touched up tub & toilets were not clean so its not fun when everybody is going to the beach and i was cleaning and the owner might want to get a new master bedroom bed every year this one is getting worse they did replace the living room set its very nice but i would of liked a comforter bed to sleep on.

The condo was nice. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the rooms were nicely decorated. The only downfall was the sofa/sofa bed. I believe that sofa has seen its better days.
The view was WONDERFUL!!
There were several stores nearby, and the clubhouse had books and DVDs available for the renters.
The outdoor pool and lounge area was great! The pool was extremely clean, and the lounge furniture was in great shape.
I would recommend this condo to a friend. -

We were so excited to rent this place. We got there and the place
was
very nice, just as we expected. We got there very late and decided
to
go to bed. We woke up to a jackhammer on the roof. Totally woke
us
from our sleep. Called GMAC rental agency and they said there was
nothing they could do. We were not about to wake up to that every
morning. What kind of vacation would that be? After several phone
calls, they decided to give us keys to look at a few other rental
properties. They were all horrible, scummy, dirty, not the correct
amount of beds/baths we requested. After an ENTIRE day spent
looking at properties we finally settled on one. Worst experience
ever
and I will NOT be booking through GMAC ever again and neither
will
my family. Highly disappointed because we booked through them
every year. We will be looking for something else next year. Staff
was rude and told us to go home if we didn't like any of the
properties. All we wanted was the original one we booked minus
the construction at 7am everyday. I guess that was too much to
