“Great place to stay.” Our condo was on the 2d floor, and we had a nice view of the ocean from the balcony. It was clean and had everything we needed - including a washer and dryer. The beds were comfortable as was the furniture. We ate in a lot and found everything we needed to cook was in good shape and clean. The pools were clean and the beach was fabulous. The waves aren't as big as at Va Beach, but we still had plenty of fun. I was surprised all the places had lights on at night even though the turtles were nesting. This complex was right on the beach -just a short walk away! We will probably be back and hope to stay in the same unit.

“Peaceful” The unit we stayed in was very clean. Our unit favorite was the balcony swing. It was nice to sit on in the evenings, in the shade, and listen to the ocean sounds. We enjoyed walks in the evening at Fort Fisher. My personal highlight of the stay was seeing dolphins the first early morning of our stay. The restaurants are nearby and so is a grocery store called Food Lion. We enjoyed visiting nearby towns of Wilmington and Southpoint. You can find even more good eats and quaint local shopping there. I would have given 5 stars but we were disappointed that we couldn't see the entire beach from the balcony due to the setback of the building behind two other buildings. The ocean is directly in front of the unit but the view is obscured due to the two buildings on either side. Also, the workout center was closed due to construction the entire stay. The unit could also use an updated microwave. The owners are very easy to work with and good at communication.

“Charming Home Away From Home” This condo was absolutely charming! It was everything described and more. The condo is beautifully decorated with a beach theme throughout. The condo was quiet, spacious, and yet cozy and perfect for my husband and me. The view from the deck and the master bedroom was incredible. (Be sure to take binoculars so you can enjoy the view and observe the local birds.) We wanted to be able to cook most of our meals, enjoy the beach, visit some local attractions, and have a few nice dinners at local restaurants. We were able to do all that and more. The extra bedroom was a plus as we entertained family several times and the kitchen had everything we needed to make a full dinner for everyone. What a wonderful time we all had! The weather was spectacular and we even enjoyed a full moon. I love the beach, but had never done a beach rental. We were so fortunate that our first rental was with Ellen. To say, she was helpful and just wonderful is an understatement. She made us feel so comfortable about renting, answering our every question, and even called to be sure she had addressed all of our concerns. We could tell she took great pride in her property and made every effort to make it “a home away from home.” Ellen even called after we were there a day or so to be sure everything was OK. Thank you Ellen for making our first beach rental so special. My husband and I had such a lovely time and left with memories that will last us forever. We would definitely stay here again!! Gayle

“Excellent family rental” Home was extremely nice and just as pictured online. It is also located within walking distance of several good restaurants and the beach. The owner was also easy to reach and responded in a very timely fashion with any questions that I had.

About Wilmington
Nestled into a scenic southeastern corner of North Carolina, historic Wilmington is home to about 100,000 people. Despite this relatively modest population, the city is booming as a site of film and television production, ranking as high as third in the entire United States for activity behind Los Angeles and New York.
Most visitors to Wilmington aren't there to catch a glimpse of their favorite movie stars, though; they've come for the city's world-famous seafood, spectacular beaches and tours of its celebrated plantations.
The Wilmington area is home to some of the North Carolina coast's most popular beaches, including Wrightsville Beach and Kure Beach.
Some other stops to consider for your itinerary include:
- USS North Carolina battleship memorial: Visitors can tour the deck of this storied battleship, which saw active duty in the Pacific during World War II.
- Cape Fear Museum: The museum's collection offers an interesting look into the rich natural and cultural history of the region.
- Cape Fear Serpentarium: If you're looking for a unique way to spend the day, the city's serpentarium offers an eye-opening look at over 80 different snake species.
- Bellamy Mansion: One of the area's most popular draws for those interested in the region's architectural history, Bellamy Mansion is comprised of a stately Southern manor, carriage house and slave quarters spread across beautifully landscaped gardens.
- Jungle Rapids: This combination leisure ground and water park is open throughout the year, though access to the water park varies seasonally.
Wilmington's proximity to the North Carolina coast also makes it an excellent place to base a visit to the many plantations, colonial towns, boardwalks and beaches in the area. If you want to stay near the beach, you'll find that the Wilmington area's many condo-style vacation rentals make an appealing and comfortable alternative to staying in a crowded hotel. You'll enjoy more privacy and have all the comforts of home while taking in the unique experience of Southern life firsthand. Wilmington has a temperate subtropical climate and thus remains relatively comfortable throughout the year. If you're visiting for the beaches, though, summer is far and away the best time of year to come.
To take advantage of the rich variation of the area's attractions, you'll probably want to rent a car to get around. However, if you are up for a bike ride, the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Cape Fear Run Bicycling Highway also runs through the Wilmington area, and offers a one-of-a-kind way to experience the region's breathtaking scenery and beautiful weather.
