Friends recommended the villa and it was exactly as they described it. Beautifully built & decorated villa, with great attention to detail (both in the house and outside in the gardens). The views are absolutely stunning (sunset is amazing), we fell in love with the house and the island! It is close to all accomodations: Otzias beach & its taverna are only 3min away and Vourkari port with great restaurants and shops only 5 min away (both by car). The island is still quite unspoilt and has numerous beaches, we could not see all of them in one week. The owner has been extremely helpful and provided us with a lot of useful information to make our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend in turn villa Sandra-Maria and look forward to coming back soon.

The villa is beautiful and well kept so looks fresh and new. It sits on the top of a hill overlooking the sea. If you look at Google maps, it's just to the west of Otzias. There are two bedrooms inside the villa, and a third in a separate building. There's a good kitchen with a dishwasher etc. and three big dining tables scattered around the property for a choice of venue. The house is cool and has aC (we did not use). There's also a home entertainment system and wifi. The bedrooms are all in effect on-suite.
The swimming pool is lovely and deep for adults. You can get down to the cove just to the right, but it's a bit of a scramble. Otherwise the nearest beach is about a 4 minute drive. The best beach that we found (and we did a few on the north, west, east and south of the island) was the one between the two ports. It is both sandy and has great snorkeling along the north end. It's about a 8 minute drive. The island is about 30 km long and we drove all the way around. The prettiest part is in the south east which is hard to get to with no shops etc, but very farm-like and original.
The owner is helpful and guided the person who booked our holiday through the payment process - its always strange to send money to someone you dont know! There was a local guy who left his phone number for help. We called twice (kettle leaking and no water heating when arrived) and both times got a quick response. There was a broken glass that we told the cleaner about.
Getting to the island was easy enough. It's a 40 minute drive from athens airport to Lavrio port, and then a 1-hour ferry ride costing about 11 euros a head plus cars. The ferry booking was ridiculous with no online facility in 2012. Luckily the owner helped us book. Phew. You need transport on the island, so always take a car.
The shops on the island were for greek tourists, so no tacky rubbish and no high-rise concrete that you associate with greece. Restaurants in the capital were superb, particularly Rolandos which was our favourite on the island. The supermarkets were not great but we spent most of our time trying to find local food. There was a meat shop (the meat changed every day) and you had to buy fish from the fishing boats at 9:30. No fresh olives or capers anywhere that we could find! :(
Finally, to the "but". On our second day in the villa, the neighbour in the above villa started playing very, very loud music. I popped up to ask them if they would mind turning it down. The guy in there was very aggressive and i realised that it was a trick to force us to come around. He screamed at me, which was shocking. "this is not a hotel, i'm going to call the police and you will be thrown out." This went on for a good 30 minutes, but luckily i managed to calm the guy so while he wasn't shouting, he was still aggressive. He stated that we were illegally there, that we had no right to be, that by paying money we had broken the terms of the house sale and broken the law. He asked how much we had paid and whether we had got a receipt and paid tax. I told him nothing. He said that because i seemed okay and because he was leaving for athens the next day, he would not call the police. But he said he would call them should he return the following weekend and find us there. I asked if we should pass his message to the owner, and he said "do what you like, you are breaking the law".
I did not tell my extended family about his agression and him saying that he would call the police to throw us out. I did not want to spoil their holiday. But i decided myself to write it on Tripadvisor as a warning to future visitors to watch out for him. I will also send this to the owner in the hope that they can deal with it too.

Dear Alan Thank you for the 5 stars you would have given to our villa. I am sorry for the unhappy incident that happend during your stay. Usually there is a guard and an assistant who take care of those who stay in the villa ,solving any problem it may accur and it is always me who lives near by and ensure their calm and relax holidays . Unfortunatelly that was the first time I was in USA for the university of my daughter ,you knew it, and the guard was not there in this bad moment. You should have called him at soon. we have settle the problem with the neighbor .He understood that he had no right and no reason to react as he did . He apologized and now he is renting his villa too and he seems very calm and satisfied. On my turn I would like to invite you and the kids ,next year for one week to the villa without charge, you can come anytime except July and August . Thank you again for the books you have brought to me and no problem for the broken glass table . Best regards

Of all the trips I have taken, my time at Villa Sandra Maria was one of the most relaxing, inspiring, and fulfilling. The elegant decor of the villa, and the mesmerizing view as we looked over the infinity pool, made it hard to venture out. Olga, the owner, went above and beyond to meet our needs, from the moment we stepped off of the ferry. It seemed like we were visiting an old frind. She guided us to wonderful restaurants, tavernas, and shops. The photos do not do justice to the villa. We spent days by the pool listening to the outdoor sound system and evenings enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. After visiting athens and Santorini, I think Villa Sandra Maria and the surrounding villages are what made my trip to Greece the best trip ever. Olga is a gem!

A little gem on the hilltop on Kea, a beautiful small Greek island. We enjoyed our stay very much, the villa itself is gorgeous, offering amazing sea views and luxurious amenities in picturesque, clean and quiet surroundings. It is close to stunning beaches, great traditional restaurants and even a few cute small boutiques. Your ideal destination for relaxing! The photos don't even do the villa justice, it's even more beautiful in person. The owner of the villa, Olga, is very friendly and gave us lots of information to make our vacation even better.
Do not forget to visit the capital of Kea, Ioulis, as well. It's very pretty and unique, plus it has lots of restaurants serving amazing traditional food. -

We spent there a wonderful week. The house is beautiful, decorated with love (to be careful with small children), full equiped and has an amazing view. The owner is very kind and helps you with all your enquiries. You are close to shops and beaches but you need a car.

I can't describe how lovely villa Sandra Maria is. My partner and I have decided we will try and return every year from now on. We had the most relaxing time ever. The attention to detail within the villa and it's gardens was amazing. The owner was very accomodating and helpful. it really is heaven on earth.

I am sure that villa Sandra Maria is ideal for family vacation. Besides the stunning view of the aegean Sea, the elegant architecture and the private pool, villa Sandra Maria is very close to athens (30’ minutes via ”Attiki Odos” - a private motorway – to Lavrion Harbor and one hour by ship to Tzia). While my family enjoyed a swim, I could manage my business and meet them in the afternoon. We dined in nearby restaurants close to the coast and then watched the sunset. Isn’t it perfect?

Perfect summer holidays in a beutiful villa in one of the most beatiful island of Cyclades.Villa Santra Maria is exactly like photos with marvelous view and fantastic aesthitcs.The hostess is very helpfull and offers very good accomodation.
