Additional Location Information
Located less than 1/2 mile outside Key West in Stock Island. Our condo offers the best of everything. Just far enough from downtown (4miles) that you won't be bothered with the downtown noise of the Duval St. bands late at night, but you are still close to everything. Walking distance to bank/atm, several local favorite bar/grills with live music, charter boats and water adventure rentals (kayaks, jet skis, paddle boards).
We are located right next to a liquor store, convenience store, bank with ATM, Burger King, and walking distance to many restaurants that are favorites with the locals including Hog Fish Bar/Grill on the water, Hurricane Hole Marina/Bar/Grill on the water, Rusty Anchor, El Mochos Cuban Cafe, and Chicos Cantina. You don't have to drive to try great local seafood specialties and enjoy a cold beer or cocktail, just stroll or bike to any one of these and you won't be disappointed. Get some hot cuban bread and a cafe con leche in the morning at El Mochos but don't forget they offer great lunch items too. They are just a short walk away from our condo and don't be surprised if you find yourself returning every morning or lunch time for more.
Our complex is also located along the local city bus transit route which comes by every 1/2 hour, offers transit to all parts of Key West (old town, beaches, and new town) and is economically priced at $8.00 per person for a weekly pass. See the bus schedule at : http://www.keywestcity.com/egov/docs/1326471143_714111.pdf .

This is a wonderful condo, clean and spacious and well equipped. Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As this states, it is a distance from downtown Key West but with a car is very convenient. The bedroom facing the highway is a bit noisy in the early am. We loved the rooster crowing in the morning. All the people in the complex were friendly and nice. We intend to rent again in the future.

This place is wonderful! You walk in and the openness and style is beautiful. The condos are in a gated neighborhood and close to everything. We enjoyed cooking in this place, the kitchen had everything we needed. Things we really enjoyed where the decks, # of bathrooms, laundry, multiple TV, pool and the bikes. Great time and we would recommend to anyone and everyone!

We found this condo to be everything as advertised. As my wife put it, this is a very comfortable unit, very clean and well equipped. We are all aarp members and had a great time riding the bikes everyday, we even made it to Duval street. Judy was very helpful in answering all our questions re various activities. The deep sea fishing was great. The biggest draw back was that we only stayed one week, once you are there you don't want to leave!!!

Thank you for your nice review. We loved having you and by all means whenever you decide to return, just call or email me for reservations. I'm so glad you enjoyed using the bikes all over the island. It's fun and great exercise and a neat way to spend time together. So thanks again for taking time to review my vacation rental and we hope you come again.

Condo is clean, spacious and above average amenities. Location is not in Key West. It is about 6 miles from Duvall Street. The bikes were nice but location is too far for use around town. Condo is on highway therefore loud. Judy says she offers concierge services but my emails and phone calls for bookings were not answered. Very easy to book and prompt return of deposit were appreciated.
Response from Judy Tomita - 12/29/2012

Thank you for the review, however, I must respond to a couple of your statements....
I did return your phone call regarding my concierge services.and I left a message on your phone. When you didn't reply I figured you changed your mind. I don't know why you didn't receive the email, possibly it went to your spam folder.
As far as the bike ride distance to town... that is a biased oppinion that it is too far to ride into town as it's very close to Key West and yes it is 5 miles to Duval St. but such a beautiful ride. So many of my guests have complimented my location as it being a pleasure having the bikes to ride and enjoy complimentary with the condo. I appreciate all of the reviews I receive but I also have to make it clear that some reviews reflect oppinions that are not on large typical or accurate. I pride myself on being available to my guests and helpful during their stay with any requests. -

Lovely two bedroom condo with nice amenities. So great to be able to have breakfast without leaving your room. Plenty of space for a family or two couples (as we were). Condo had everything you need. One caution, it is "over the bridge" from historic Key West. Very comfortable with a car, we never had problems parking, but family biking in traffic could be an issue. One of the nicest places we have stayed!!

The Condo was just perfect for a family vacation. It is located in a secure gated community just outside Key west offering some peace and quiet with easy access to everything. Key west is a short drive or bike ride away. The extras are awesome, everything one would need for a carefree Key west vacation like free bikes, beach chairs, pool floats e.t.c. The owner was also very helpful recommending fun things to do in Key west. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Tee by the Sea was the perfect setting to the perfect vacation. This condo was close but just far enough away to be away from noise and the hustle and bustle of Key West. The condo was nicely furnished and very well taken care of. The worry free check in and reservation was simple and we had no issues. I cannot express enough how perfect this condo was for me and my family. I will not hesitate to rent again when we vacation to Key West again next year.

Wisconsin, USAunfortunately loud and expensive, bad location, but nice condo
Left on 09/03/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Its a condo , the kitchen is especially excellent. But us 1 is outside the master bedroom and can be very loud some nights... the sleeper sofa is terrible too, the kids chose to sleep on the bare tile instead. The Central air for some reason is also loud, and the planes for Key West's very nearby airport, or perhaps the naval base, seem to carpet bomb the development. If you are lucky to fall asleep by 3:30 or 4:00, the roosters start to crow (for real)! Its a pretty long bike ride into downtown, and initially intimidating, as there are several very congested and substandard trailer parks just outside the gates. There is a convenience store right outside the gates continuously visited by heavy drinking street-folk and hard core wandering substance abusers.
The development is also not really "by the sea" at all, any more
than the nearby Burger King. To get to the decent beaches you have to go three miles or so. Also be careful with GPS, it won't get you there, it took us to the other side of Key West. Also no extra pillow or blankets to be found.Response from Judy Tomita - 09/29/2012
Owner
Very unfortunate your review and very strange because you never indicated anything wrong/missing when we talked via the phone during your stay. You even complemented the place and amenities.
I guess you are clearly upset that I charged you for 6 missing large towels that we discovered upon your check out. Maybe your kids left them at the pool, beach, etc..... Unfortunately, I do have to charge my guests for such things as I try to maintain a certain standard for all of my guests and thus I had to take time out of my day to go to the store to replace them as well as the cost of the towels themselves. I clearly state there is such a charge in my contract if such items are found to be missing after checkout.
You might want to update your GPS. I email my guests very clear driving directions before they arrive so not sure why you didn't just follow them but maybe you forgot them like you forgot which day you were supposed to check out. I've never had a guest forget their check out date!!!!!
The street behind the condo does eminate sounds but not to the extent that you are referring so that was very exagerated.
The convenience store nearby is frequented by our local patrolling sheriffs dept, so it's quite uncommon that the class of people that you say you witnessed are found there just because of this reason.
The condo is by the sea...... in fact it's right next to Murray's Marina, a full service oceanside marina as well as a public oceanside boat ramp and 2 more marinas either direction you walk just up the road
Hurricane Hole Marina
Key West Harbor Yacht Club
I have clocked the closest beach which is Smathers beach and it is 2 miles away. There are several beaches in Key West so yes some of the others are further in the city 3-4 miles from the condo. However, most of all of my guests love to take the bikes to explore the island and take in the ocean views along so much of the wandering bike path throughout the island.
I thank you for your business but cannot stay quiet when disparaging and false statements are made about my condo and the amenities offered. I take great pride in my business as well as my condo and offer my guests no less than what I would expect for my own family.

My family and I stayed on this property the first week of June for three nights after a cruise. It was way cheaper than getting 2-3 hotel rooms. As we entered the teens yelled out "wow" and "cool". Having the bikes to use was a great touch. The teens went to the nearby museum and enjoyed riding alongside the water. Duvall st was a hit for my husband and I. We loved making our own breakfast and lunch. I was sooo happy to be able to do laundry and go home with clean clothes. The owner was extremely helpful and answered several questions on several phone calls to her. We can't wait to go back, thank you for such an awesome time.

Very loud since it sits right on top of US1. The golf course is across US1 and the condo is not by the sea nor is it in Key West. Otherwise, it is a nice, clean place.
Response from Judy Tomita - 01/26/2012
Owner
The condo is by the sea as there is a marina right next door to our complex as well as several more within walking distance, so not sure why you made that statement. I don't claim to have an ocean view but the complex is also right next to a public boat ramp as well that is fed from the Gulf and Atlantic ocean.
My description of location is very clearly stated. I get many sports fisherman that stay with me for this exact reason of how close my place is to so many marinas especially the ones that host fishing tournaments. I get many repeat guests for this reason as I can even offer a place for their trailers to be parked which most cannot.
I also never claim to be inside of Key West proper. I clearly state in all of my advertisements that my condo is less than 1/8 of a mile outside of Key West in Stock Island, which many locals now call "Old Key West". -

Leesburg, FLReviewing Key West stay
Left on 12/28/2011 for a stay in November 2011
The condo was clean and well-furnished and kept. Nicely appointed details. The address of Key West led us to believe it would be within the city, but it was 4-5 miles outside downtown, and so we had to drive or ride our bikes (a little bit risky) to see the sites downtown each day, which proved a little inconvenient. Pool area in condo development was lovely.
Response from Judy Tomita - 01/09/2012
Owner
Thank you for the review. I clearly state that my condo is just outside of Key West, less than 1/4 mile from the entrance to the island. It is 4 miles from downtown and I let anyone know that inquires. I'm confused as to the mention of the bike ride being risky as you are the only guest that has ever said that comment. I have been making that bike ride since I was 12 years old and it's quite beautiful and easy. The bike path is wide and clearly marked and easy to navigate. There is local bus service to downtown with an $8.00/week pass available as well which runs every 1/2 hour and the bus stop is right outside our complex. So comment about bike riding and getting to downtown in my oppinion is very skewed and not of the common oppinion from my guests as indicated by their reviews. But nonetheless I do appreciate your review.

Thank you for the review. We are so glad you came back to stay with us again. We loved having you.
To answer the questions about diabilities...No my condo is not set up for someone in a wheel chair as there are stairs from floor to floor.
No I do not allow pets of any size as I try to maintain a high standard of excellence when it comes to my furnishings and really it doesn't matter the size of any pet, they all go to the bathroom and most have hair. Thus I am not interested in compromising the quality of my condo amenities to allow pets.
It's just one more issue that if I don't have to deal with, I don't want to. -

Nice clean condo. Easy acres to Key West but away from the heart of the city, so walking not really an option. Be prepared to spend money to park your car. Pool is great at the condo, and we enjoyed the resident chickens. My only true negative is that there is only one designated parking space. We had people coming from two areas and so had two vehicles to unload when we arrived. With only one space it was a little frustrating. Overall it was a great place for our family and I would highly recommend Tee by the Sea.
Response from Judy Tomita - 08/17/2011
Owner
THanks so much for review. I just wanted to reply regarding the parking. While my unit does come with one parking space right under my unit, the general parking in the complex is available for anyone to use on a first come first serve basis with NO charge just to be clear. No one has rights over the general parking spaces and there are at least a dozen or more directly across (the complex street- like 10 steps) from my parking space. I am glad that so much parking is available as many of my competitors don't even have parking to offer their guests at all.
The paid parking you are referring to is within the city of Key West in the downtown areas where parking is very limited and a hassle. Many vacation rentals in Key West don't even offer their own designated parking space and guests are left to fend for themselves.
I just wanted to clear up some things so future guests were not under the impression that parking is limited at our complex, it's not. I am happy you enjoyed your stay and definitely hope you would think of us if you return. Thanks for staying at Tee by the Sea. -

We enjoyed staying at Tee by the Sea. Our first night was a little hot as the ac was not cooling properly, however the owner was quick to get on it and it was fixed the next day. She also brought us a bottle of liquor for the inconvience. The kitchen was great, it had everything you needed and more!! We also loved the surround sound for the TV. We watched a few movies one night and it was awesome! We enjoyed the bikes as well. It was nice to tour the

Ashland, VAAttractive property and neighborhood
Left on 05/11/2010 for a stay in April 2010
The house was spacious with modern amenities and attractively decorated. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. The pool is surrounded by attractive plants. We rode the bikes to the nearby botanical gardens. We also rode them to downtown Key West but that was a little far for our 5 year old who rode on a third wheel we rented. Judy was pleasant to work with and provided our deposit refund as promised. We would stay here again.

Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed your stay and our botanical gardens, the pool and the bikes. Please contact me if you ever want to stay in Key West again.

Our stay at Tee by the Sea on Stock Island near Key West was wonderful. The condo was lovely, spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and more. Judy kept in close contact with us prior to arrival, answering our questions and offering her support and assistance. Providing the bikes for our use was a big plus as the condo is very close to some of the very best seafood restaurants in the Keys. The Hogfish and Shrimp Shack were two of our favorites. While Stock Island is a slight distance from Key West's main attractions, Duval Street and Mallory Square, it was a great place to relax, regroup and refresh in the beautiful pool. Yes, the roosters tend to start their morning reveille VERY early - but it's Key West, after all! You'll find that taxi service is a bit expensive so here's a tip - a City bus pass is $8 for a whole week and the bus stop is around the corner from the complex. Since we didn't rent a car, the bus pass paid for itself in no time. Thanks Judy for a great experience at Tee by the Sea!

Patti,
Thanks for the nice review. Yes, our island is full of roosters and i don't think there is anywhere you can stay that they won't be heard. It's part of the island life and charm. Sometimes they are around but sometimes they have travelled to another section of town. Anyways i was so happy to meet you and also learn about the bus passes. I never take the bus so i didn't realize how economical it was. I will definitely pass the info onto my future guests. Remember if you ever come our way again we would love for you to remember "Tee by the Sea" and stay with us. -

Left on 03/07/2010 for a stay in February 2010
While the weather was cooler than usual, we had an excellent stay at Judy's condo. It was neat, clean, well-cared for and provided all we needed to feel at home. Location is not in "downtown" Key West, but we preferred being a very short distance away, and rode bikes to town 3 times. Judy provided all arrival/departure info and was very accomodating. The 2 bedrooms and washer/dryer are upstairs which may be something for some people to consider, but it was no problem for us. It was like home....

Thanks for staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed the bikes and riding around the island on them. Our weather has been cooler than usual this winter, but it still is so pleasant to be outside taking in the sights. Hope you think of us again in the future should you visit Key West. Take Care.

The condo was absolutely gorgeous! It was very clean, decorated elegantly, and the furnishings were very comfortable.
The amenities that are in the condo are well thought out and Judy didn't miss a beat thinking of every detail a traveler might need.
We liked being away from the downtown area and enjoyed the quiet and our privacy.
Judy was easy to work with, and offered to assist is in any way that she could.
We look forward to a return visit to this property. -

Nashville, TNSweet stay near Key West
Left on 10/26/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Our condo was the perfect size for the four of us. It was beautifully furnished, cozy and clean in a secluded little gated community. My kids and husband enjoyed using the pool a few times. We never got to use the bikes because we were so busy in Key West (a quick 10 minute drive away) with other activities and I was a bit concerned about the kids crossing Hwy 1 with the bikes. Also, the condo was pretty close to the highway and at first seemed a bit loud, but we were so tired after daily activities that the road noise soon became a moot point. The price was great! We loved our stay!!

Thanks for the comments. We would love for you to stay with us again and next time try out a family outing on the bikes. The bike path is very safe and many of our guests made a point of saying how nice of a ride it was to see the island. Call us again on your next trip. We enjoyed having you.

We had a great time at "Tee by the Sea". Everything we needed was made available by Judy! The condo provides all kitchen supplies, a dishwasher, washer- dryer, bicycles, a basket full of travel brochures, the community has a pool and gym, all we had to bring was our clothes and toiletries! The condo was also very spacious and exceptionally clean. It is very close to the super-market, golf course, beach, restaraunts, etc... The only bad part was we had to leave when vacation ended! We would definitely reccomend this rental!

We stayed in Tee by the Sea in September. It was a wonderful condo and very clean. Nicely decorated. Judy was helpful and very prompt if we had a problem. We enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch at night. The pool was nice and very relaxing. It was nice to be a bit away from Duval Street so we could escape to a more quiet area. Hurricane Hole which was very close to the condo was a nice place to sit and have a drink and appetizers away from the hustle and bustle of Duval. We really enjoyed our trip and would stay here again.

The condo was very beautiful and elegant furnished. Just the highway was a little bit too loud. Duval Street and Mallory Square were an amazing experience. A trip to Bahia Honda State Park is also worthwhile. This suits us and we would visit this condo again.
Thank you Judy Tomita! -

My family of 6 stayed in Judy's town home - Tee by the Sea last Thanksgiving
and it was beautiful. It was the cleanest place we have ever stayed and Judy
was so easy to work with both when making reservations and during our stay.
The location was perfect and the pool was so very tropical and warm even
during the cooler evenings. We felt very comfortable with all of the
furnishings and would highly recommend staying here. We have spoken with
several potential renters for Judy's home and we are always glad to speak with
anyone who wants to know the truth about comfort, security, safety, beauty
and location. You may contact us directly through Judy anytime.

Family Vacation
Arlington Heights, ILGreat Vacation Home at a Great Price
Left on 07/09/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Tee by the Sea is luxury accomodations at an economical price. A very comfortable home with all the extras. All appliances and electronics look brand new or only slightly and gently used. The Kitchen area has everything that you need.It even had spices and some coffee that someone was considerate enough to leave for the next lucky vactioneers.
The bicycles and some beach accesories that are available in the storage area was put to good use. It was the first time that our whole family was able to take a bicycle ride together in many years.
It's very easy to ride anywhere on Key West, and we enjoyed riding around the neighborhoods on Stock Island.
The swimming pool is close to the unit and beautifully appointed and landscaped. It was never crowded.
We had a very good vacation experience and would recommend renting Tee by the Sea to anyone considering a vacation in Key West. -

Left on 07/09/2009 for a stay in March 2009
Decorations and amenities were wonderful. Very clean and well cared for condo. The communal pool was very nice and a good size. The name, "Tee by the Sea" is a bit misleading since the golf course is across US1 from the condo which is also not on the ocean. There is also a constant drone of traffic from US1 which is right off the master bedroom and living room. Aside from this, it was a wonderful place to stay and a good value for the Key West area.

We loved every moment of our stay at Tea by the Sea. The house is comfortable and has all of the amenities you need for a long stay away from home. The grounds are great...loved the pool every day!! Seemed like a private pool. Key West and the other Keys are all easily available. Ran,swam, and played in the Keys. Can hardly wait to go back.

From the moment we walked in the door we loved this condo! It was clean, well decorated and looked brand new. Everything was very nice quality and in perfect condition. The bedding was wonderful! We loved the pool. There was hardly anyone around when we were there. We did meet some nice people there though. It was a great place to kick back and relax. We rode the bikes to the store down the street. Everything was just as it was described and we are already planning out next trip there. We loved it!
