Description
CasparCottage is a very charming, private, quiet cottage that my husband and I built on our five private acres at the eastern edge of the Russian Gulch State Park, with a lovely walk through the redwood forest to the WATERFALL in the park. We are located just three miles up the ridge from the ocean and ten minutes from Mendocino or Fort Bragg. It's a perfect place for a honeymoon, anniversary, special occasion or quiet retreat. It has a comfortable queen bed with down comforter and nice linens, new sleeper sofa (that accommodates one adult or two small children), fully equipped kitchen, gas BBQ and picnic table with string lights above for the evenings, lovely custom cabinetry and a beautiful marble tiled bathroom with a jet tub and large shower. The cottage is very comfortable and nicely appointed with original art. Flames from an enameled European propane stove bring the warmth and coziness of a fire with the convenience of a thermostat. There is a Bose radio, 32' flat screen DIRECTV w/ HBO, DVD/VCR with small library of films, Satellite wireless INTERNET connection, iron and hairdryer. For our guests we provide organic coffee and tea, nice bread and jam and fresh fruit and flowers (usually from our garden). From the cottage you can walk through the Redwoods to a beautiful WATERFALL, as we are near the Russian Gulch State Park Waterfall Trail and also bicycle trails in Jackson State Forest. We will gladly direct you to great restaurants, nice beaches, beautiful hikes and activities on the coast. Mendocino is full of wonderful activities from hiking and biking and kayaking in our many State Parks to wine tasting and fine dining. There are beautiful deserted beaches for beach combing and horseback riding and art galleries and unique shops for browsing. There is a Mendocino Music Festival held in a huge tent overlooking the ocean for two weeks in July and the Mendocino Film Festival in early June, as well as Whale Festivals in March, a Mushroom Festival in November and a Crab and Wine Festival in January. The TOTAL cost is $150 nightly on weekdays December through February, $165 on weekends. In March, April and November it is $165 nightly. In May, June and September $175, and in July and August and on all holidays $185 nightly. Weekly rates $800 - $1150. OUR PRICES INCLUDE TAX AND CLEANING! The first thing I do when guests leave is to read our guest book and sometimes it actually brings a tear to my eye along with a big smile. We do care about our guests. The guests who stayed with us just prior to you went down the trail into the redwoods to the waterfall rather late in the day (without flashlights) and after it got dark I realized they hadn't returned, so we walked down into the woods and found them and brought them home. Hospitality, it's what I do! We hope to see you back here again!
