“The Lily Pad Exceeded Our Expectations!” One word: wow. My family & I were incredibly excited to stay at The Lily Pad after looking at the lovely photos of the property online. But wow, when we arrived it was even better than it looked in the pictures. I've never stayed at a property that is as thoroughly maintained as this place. Clean from wall to wall, with every ammenity you could possibly want & need. Great family vacation home!! This will be a staple home away from home from now for myself & my family. “Great RRV Getaway -- Quiet & Remote, yet Conveniently Located to” We rented this updated house for Thanksgiving.We were a party of 6: grandparents,adult children & 2 grandchildren.We stayed in the downstairs, and the kids and grandkids stayed in the upstairs 2 BR with one large bathroom (with jacuzzi tub, shower stall & sauna) and a separate 1/2 bath.The house itself has one large living & kitchen area, with an eating bar,upstairs,with a second living area and kitchenette downstairs, which has an additional exterior door). We did not realize that the upstairs & downstairs aren't connected "inside"-you have to use the outside stairs to go from one area to the other. It's not a big deal and it provided a bit of separation from the noise and commotion of the kiddos.Overall,the house updated: updates in the kitchen,bathrooms,downstairs,central heat, Wifi,etc.Yet very comfortable and quaint with electric fireplaces (no wood burning),views of the redwoods from every window & large outdoor decks.The decks wrap around the house and provide privacy if you choose to use the hot tub or sit outside and enjoy the porch views of the trees & the RR. With latching gates at the top of the stairs, it was safe for the 3 yr old.The kitchen is a bit tight,but it is fully equipped with a nice frig,new gas range,new dishwasher.We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner(always a challenge in someone else's kitchen),there were plenty of dishes,utensils,service wear, pots,pans,etc.The upstairs:full bath and half bath are adjacent to the living area.The upstairs beds are very comfy,with nice furniture and finishing.The sheets and towels are all very new and fluffy.The primary bathroom is huge, with a large Jacuzzi and the separate shower.The bathroom has a zen vibe-very relaxing.The half-bath is convenient with a crowd.We walked down the steps to the river,enjoyed the scenic fall views of the RR.Fun!The owner was delightful to work with & gave us plenty of info,good directions.Very helpful!

“Perfect for a getaway!” We had a girl's weekend getaway and this was the best of our regular excursions. There were 6 of us and we all slept in comfortable beds (king, queen, and sofa bed). The house provided beautiful spots to hang out and chat: the peaceful backyard where we could smell the roses, the family room with an open kitchen and vaulted ceiling, and the totally charming tatami room. (We all took turns lying down and smelling the tatami mats. I'd heard about that, but never done it before!) The price was great and the place clean, comfortable, and just lovely. We used the savings to check out some wineries. We also cooked some meals using local produce we got from Sonoma Market (very close by). Good complete kitchen. We'd highly recommend this place.

“Adorable Cottage in the Redwoods” We loved the little cottage in the redwoods. It was clean, comfortable, and lovely. The stove heated up the place quickly and you could open the windows to cool the place down quickly. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and there was a wonderful stereo if we wanted music, or a tv and dvd player when we wanted to watch a movie. The only difficulty with the property is the location. It's in a neighborhood of cottages/cabins on a very very steep hillside. We took our car that is a manual transmission and it was no fun navigating the small streets at very steep angles. Just bring your small automatic car! Otherwise, a beautiful location and place to relax.

“Perfect rental for you and your 27 closest friends” I rented the Estate for my birthday april 19-21 and had 24-28 people up over the course of the weekend, and I could not be happier with my choice. The houses are quite spacious, with well appointed rooms and comfortable couches so all my guests slept well. The kitchens and common rooms are set up for large meals, and all 28 gathered for a buffet dinner in Contente with room to spare. The game rooms are the best. Everyone at the party had a blast playing ping pong, pool, air hockey, and arcade basketball. I loved walking people through the property as they arrived, as everyone was astounded by the variety of entertainments and how nice everything was. Yet, the grounds are what made this rental shine. The back deck area was a great site for my friends to gather around the grill and keg, and people loved napping on the secluded, shady lawn during the day. The private beach access is great, and when we were there, we basically had the whole segment to ourselves. My boyfriend even caught a steelhead just fishing from the beach on our second evening there. Amazing! Many of my friends said that weekend was the best birthday party they'd ever been to, and I know it is in large part because of all the wonderful features of this rental. I would love to rent this property again (after I save up for another decade)! The communication from Russian River Vacation Homes was also top notch with every email responded to within the day. Their reps are friendly and honest, and the transaction could not have been smoother.
