EnnisThe Best Stay at Home Holiday Ever!
Left on 08/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We really thought about not telling anyone obout Pontoon House it was so good.
What a fantastic house in a truely special part of Mayo. The house has everything and more, loads of space, 5 bedrooms,4 bathrooms and more than fully equiped it is even better than the website depicts.
The views of Lough Cullin and Nephin Mountains are breath-taking, and the children had a ball in the fabulous garden and up and down the laneway on their bikes and to the lake.
You would want to be extreemly fussy to find a single fault with Pontoon House and we will most certainly be back.Response from Patrick & Emer Moran - 09/01/2012

Hi Elaine,
Great to see how much you and your family enjoyed the simplicity of Pontoon House & the surrounding countryside. We look forward to making your next trip even better and will have a few treats for your return visit. Kind regards, Paddy & Emer. -

Back at pontoon house for our fourth visit, before arriving i did wonder if it would still work as children getting older...but yes it does! Probably our best visit to the house plus paddy arranged for the sun to shine all week. Walked to the lake early one morning...heaven on earth...love it. Will definately return
Response from Patrick & Emer Moran - 08/20/2012

Dublin, IrelandSuperb luxury accommodation with stunning views of Lough Cullin
Left on 07/23/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Pontoon House was all that was detailed on the website and more! With 5 bedrooms, there was plenty of space for both families. The house was exceptional, all mod-cons were provided and the information pack was really useful for suggestions on what to do in the area. What was extra special was the huge garden for the kids to play in with spectacular views of both Lough Cullin and the surronding hills. A great base from which to explore the many fantastic places Mayo has to offer, including Westport, Castlebar and Foxford to mention a few. The peace & quiet afforded by Pontoon House in such a magnificant setting will be hard to beat. There was no downside to this holiday, we will be back!
Response from Patrick & Emer Moran - 07/26/2012
Owner
Thanks Garratt for your lovely review.....it looks like you captured the essence of Pontoon House which is great to see. As with many of our clientele they love the return visits just as much. Look forward to seeing you all again in the West. Kind regards, Paddy & Emer.

Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Loads of space for 3 families with small kids. Plenty of toys, books, games for kids. The garden is brilliant. So much space to run around. See the chickens on a short walk to the lake for an adventure. Locals all very happy to see and talk to us. Great place to base yourself for exploring Mayo and Sligo. Only draw back that we found was that there was no pause button on the DVD player. Believe it or not that is vital for a holiday with 5 kids.
Response from Patrick & Emer Moran - 07/19/2012
Owner
Hi Brendan thanks for your very kind review and summary of the important items to ensure the kids have a great holiday and as a result the adults enjoy it all at their end....will have that DVD working if you get a chance to return to the West. Kind regards, Paddy & Emer.

The sun shine was great for one week in 2012 and we got it in Pontoon house Moyo.We thank God for that.
The house was a gift all mod cons. All you would need is the grub.
The view of the lakes was out of this world with the mountains as a back drop.
The least we liked it was very hard to get to the lake ,and not too safe
Response from Patrick & Emer Moran - 07/09/2012
Owner
Hi Richard,
Great to see you had a great time and enjoyed some good weather.
Sorry If I didn't inform you of the lovely stroll to the lake if you follow the lane to the right of the house....continue until you meet a gate.....open it & close it and you are now on a public right of way that brings you on a beautiful walk around the lake.
Hope you find it the next time.
Kind regards,
Paddy & Emer. -

Left on 06/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The owners were most helpful, the booking was striaght forward, the directions were clear and access was easy. The house was excellent for our party, it is well designed and very well equiped and spotlessly clean. We will certainly consider visiting again. Our only observations would be to allow credit or debit card payment facility for booking online, bank transfer is not always the most convenient way to pay though it does not detract from the experience. Regarding the house if broadband internet was availabe it would be benefical. Our overall experience was trully a delight and without doubt we would recommend anyone to book a visit.

Dear Richard, many thanks for your kind review, glad to hear you all enjoyed your trip to Pontoon House and we look forward to seeing you back in Ireland. Appreciate your constructive observations and take your points on board. Kindest regards, Paddy & Emer.

Pontoon House is without doubt a fabulous place to stay. Not only is the setting beautiful, with the kind of views people would pay good money to experience, but it is difficult to envisage a better designed and equipped house for a family break. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating too and kindly enabled us to squeeze one extra in to facilitate an extended family break. All ten of us really enjoyed our stay and never felt in any way crowded or on top of each other in a splendidly laid out, tastefully decorated and well appointed house with great facilities for cooking, relaxing and entertaining. The children also enjoyed the rugged, rocky garden a great deal. In all honesty it would be difficult to find fault with Pontoon House and we left feeling that it is a place we will most definitely come back to. The only trouble is I don't want to tell too many people about it as it might preclude us being able to make a booking next time around.

Left on 08/16/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We stayed for 9 nights in Pontoon house with young children/teenagers & grandparents and we had a great time. The house was fantastic, really clean, spacious, had everything we needed. The garden is completly secure and secluded, perfect for the kids. We had reasonably good weather so a BBQ would have been useful, but we improvised with a few disposeables. Paddy was there to meet us and made us feel really welcome, the welcome pack was a really nice gesture. We would definitely go back again & would recommend it to any family, location is remote, but if thats what your looking for, then its perfect.

We had a fantastic week in Pontoon. Weather was Irish so we excepted that. The house was a home from home, comfortable and loads of room for the kids to enjoy. We tried are hand a fishing for the first time so there was no shortage of locations close to hand. Ideal for the beginners or the masters out there. The location of Pontoon House is amazing, the peace to be found is beautiful. And Castlebar, Westport and achill are a stones throw away with the most picturesque of drives to get to them. I can safely say we'll be back as this house was everything we needed.

We have stayed in Pontoon House many times, with Granny (wheelchair bound) and young children, and we will definately return.
The house is absolutley spotless, it has everything you could possibly need and it works for both young and very old. There is a good selection of toys for the children and the garden is ideal for adventurous kids!
The house is in a quiet location, which from our point of view, was perfect as we did not have to worry about traffic. Having said that Pontoon House is ideally located to explore the surrounding countryside and the lake.
The neighbours are all very freindly and there were plenty of playmates for the children!
In short,... a great place to holiday!Response from Patrick & Emer Moran - 05/02/2011

Pontoon House is a wonderful house in the middle of wonderful Irish nature, with all the eguipment you might need. The garden is large and the view is great. Pity there is no barbecue, but during our stay the weather was too cold to eat outside.
Bedrooms and bathrooms are very nice and numerous.
Dining room and kitchen are very well equiped and cosy.
Only litlle minuspoint is the rather isolated situation. It takes a while to get to the coast and other places worthwhile visiting.
I hope to go back there.Response from Patrick & Emer Moran - 01/10/2011

Myself and fishing friends have stayed in Pontoon House on 4 occasions,it is first class accomodation for a family or group visiting the West of Ireland.Everything about this house from the open turf fire to the Ikea kitchen makes for a great socialising holiday home. There are local hotels and bars for food and drink after a days touring etc,but we found the house so comfortable we often prefered to stay home and enjoy this wonderful house.Sometimes we even caught fish, which was the object of the exercise!!!
