“Comfort in Connemara” Wow, this has got to be one of the best cottages you will find in Ireland. The house is beautiful, functional, comfortable, roomy, and a great value. I loved it. It was hard to leave to go explore western Ireland as the accommodation itself was so delightful! Thank you Liz for opening this house up to travelers and for putting your heart into the home. Living the good life in Clifden

Wow! From initial contact with the owners to renting to checking in with the house minder, we had a terrific experience. But wait, that's nothing compared to actually living in Cuach Cottage. This lovely cottage is everything we expected and more. Comfortable and extremely clean home was well-stocked and beautifully decorated with everything we needed. Stunning setting just outside the town included trout stream, great patio with view of Twelve Bens, our own cows and sheep just outside the fence. We hope to return to Cuach Cottage soon! … see more

Perfect position and comfortable well equipped home!!

We stayed at Quayside House Roundstone during June 2013 and found it to be a well equipped,very clean and well presented house (a lovely home for the week.The view over Roundstone Bay is inspiring and the people of Roundstone genuinely friendly and helpful. Relaxing, Home from Home in Conamara...

Spent a great week in an tSean Scoil in Spetember last. The ease of booking and arranging everything with antoinette made the pre holiday planning stress free. We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack of goodies and plenty of information about the area, shops, food, pubs, sites, walks etc. The house is beautifully furnished and very well presented with everything you could possibly need. The house is well designed and spacious. There are lovely views over the Owenglin river from the kitchen. The patio area to the rear is perfect for barbeques and dining al fresco - weather permitting! The sitting room is a lovely relaxing room, for reading, listening to music, tv watching. This house is a great location/base for holidaying in Conamara with great pubs, restaurants and walks on your door step. I would recommend this house as a base for anyone looking to spend time in the area. … see more
Red Deer Cottage in Stunning Location (Free Wi-Fi)
Beautiful cottage in idyllic location

We recently stayed at Red Deer Cottage in august with our two children (aged 6 and 2) and cannot recommend it highly enough. It feels more like a luxurious home than a holiday cottage and is probably the best equipped place we've ever stayed at. The cottage was so comfortable and spacious with very chic, contemporary decor. It was lovely to have little luxuries like WiFi and Sky Plus especially with small children! Liz, the owner of the cottage, was charming and incredibly helpful and we were made to feel so welcome. The cottage is in the perfect location for exploring Connemara with Kylemore abbey just down the road as well as Connemara National Park. The lovely town of Clifden is only a short drive away. The beaches nearby at Renvyle are spectacular if you are lucky enough to get fine weather! I only wish we had longer there to explore more of beautiful Connemara. … see more

The School House - Connemara

Our visit to Connemara was haunting. Steeped in history the past beckons you to feel the anguish of the people who endured such hardship, esp during the famine, while the Castle ruins tell us of a wealthy family that once was leaving you needing to know more about their lives, and the landscape demands awe, the sea, the mountains, and beaches there really is no where more spectacular. The proespect of staying in the School House was exciting - built by the founder of Clifden c. 1815 we spent our time wondering and pondering what the layout was like back then and who were the teachers who resided there. Where there any ghosts...? The house was roomy for our party (3 children, 3 teens, and 4 adults) but a little damp and really would benefit from some TLC as it has fantastic potential and charm. A few luxurious beds, an updated kitchen and it would not seem just a tad over priced. Saying that, it was well equipped for cooking and the woolen blankets were welcome in the evening after getting caught in the rain. Also the two rain showers were very nice. … see more
