“A true escape” My partner & I spent a week in the annex recently. The location is wonderful in a peaceful, tranquil and rural setting very close to the beach and the beach bar and with great views of Knocknarea, which is a worthwhile climb or for a longer walk do the 15km walk which takes in the climb starting & finishing in Strandhill. The area is an ideal base for walking. We walked the Sligo Way over 3 days, starting in Lough Talt & finishing 73kms later in Dromahair. Beautiful & varying scenery all along the way. If 3 days is not for you any section of this way is breathtaking. Closer to home is the aughris Head/Dunmoran Strand Walk, a gorgeous cliff walk. The annex itself is comfortable and we enjoyed the added peace as there was noone staying in the attaching beach house while we were there until the last 2 nights, waking up each morning to just the sound of cows & sheep, a real escape.

“A fantastic Irish experience!” We loved our stay in the Thatched cottage- it is not luxurious, but we were not looking for luxury. We enjoy walking and the views were spectacular. The Thatched Cottage was the perfect base for our holiday. We could dry out our socks in front of the peat fire when it rained (which it did quite a lot) and it was quite a short drive into Westport where we enjoyed a drop of the black stuff and some fantastic music of an evening. Our hosts could not have been more friendly and accommodating. I would heartily recommend the Thatched Cottage to anyone who is after an authentic experience and who doesn't mind uneven floors!

“Nice Spot near to the sea” Its a perfectly acceptable modern cottage that is very clean. It is very handy for Bundoran and a good location for touring as it close to the Donegal - Sligo Road. The local pub is close and very friendly.

“An enjoyable and relaxing hoilday in a very scenic location” Pontoon house is a very modern and comfortable home and it provided us with all the amenities we needed for a great stay. The service we received was excellent and the house was in perfect condition when we arrived. Its lakeside location was great with stunning views of the lake and short walks along the road up to the house is a must (little or no traffic). All the best locations to visit are within a relatively short drive, some examples are Foxford, Castlebar, Westport, Croagh Patrick, Newport and Mulranny. Would definately recommend the "Greenway cycle" between Newport and Mulranny (approx 17 kms). The scenery on this cycle is incredible. Many thanks to Paddy and Emer for providing such a detailed pack which provided all details relating to the house, how to get there and things to do during the stay.

Tranquil escape beautiful scenery lakeshore mayo
A Glorious Holiday

From the initial booking,throughout the holiday and until our eventual departure the service we received was exeplorary The house was superbly comfortable and large enough for eleven of us (10 adults plus one teenager) to holiday incomfort. The location was well known to me as I am a fisherman and have fished loughs Cullen and Conn for over 30 yeas staying in a variety of local hotels, rented houses and mobile homes. This was by far the best experience ever. Every minute was enjoyable, whether spent inthe house and its garden, walking down to the lakeshore, or driving around the beutiful lakes and mountains in the area. A drive into Castlebar, Westport, Nephin Beag, Connemara, Lenane - a visit to Clare Island, Achille Island (and its beutiful cliffs and beaches - the options are endless. My wife and I were very aware of the area and love it, but this was an opportunity for us to spend a week with our adult children (and one teenage grandchild). Our children have travelled the world and potentially may not have appreciated the area quite as much as Therese and I, after all I have banged on about it for most of their live and maybe they were purely placating us by joining us for a week? - Wrong! Each and every one of them has been completely converted and want to go back next year as they love the house and the area and quite rightly state that they have only scratched the surface and want to experience more. We will be in contact again soon with Paddy and Emer to arrange next years holiday. … see more

Living the good life in Clifden

Wow! From initial contact with the owners to renting to checking in with the house minder, we had a terrific experience. But wait, that's nothing compared to actually living in Cuach Cottage. This lovely cottage is everything we expected and more. Comfortable and extremely clean home was well-stocked and beautifully decorated with everything we needed. Stunning setting just outside the town included trout stream, great patio with view of Twelve Bens, our own cows and sheep just outside the fence. We hope to return to Cuach Cottage soon! … see more

we booked lakeside cottage this summer for one week , we were very lucky and had great wheather , my 2 young grandchildren came with us both 2yrs old , the garden was safe and the play area at the back of the cottage was a great idea as were the tennis courts , there was something for everyone if you want a peacefull away from everything holiday this is the place to go The owners were more than helpful and very friendly , we hope to return next year … see more
