“Funky retro decor, comfy, cool and affordable, + lovely owner!” My husband, friend and I all shared this gorgeous apartment for a long weekend in antwerp. Its a great apartment, perfect location as its right in the middle of the heart of antwerp, yet peaceful and quiet despite being beneath a bar! The decor is really funky, with gorgeous retro furniture, comfortable bed and sofa bed, and great kitchen and free standing bath! A lovely place to come back to and make a cup of tea and chill out, and enough space for the three of us. The owner is also really lovely and helpful, and recommended some fabulous restaurants and bars to go to. Definately highly recommend this apartment! A great way to stay rather than a bland, unintersting B&B; or hotel!

About Belgium

Rich in history, Belgium is a hugely popular destination for travelers visiting Europe. With amazing food, beautiful architecture, and close proximity to multiple countries, this tiny nation serves as a great introduction to the rest of the continent because the influence of these neighboring countries is heavily present in Belgian culture. Belgium consists of three very specific and distinct regions: Flanders, the Dutch speaking region of the country, Wallonia, the French speaking region, and Brussels, which is located in between the two and maintains a sense of neutrality by remaining bilingual.

Here are a few suggestions of things to do in Belgium:

  • Brussels: This large city is the capital of Belgium and the unofficial capital of the European Union.
  • Bruges: The backdrop for countless movies, Bruges is home to medieval architecture and quaint.
  • Antwerp: Antwerp is the second largest city in Belgium and most known for its giant cathedral and cobblestone streets.
  • Waterloo Battlefield: This is where Napoleon lost the final battle that forever altered Europe.
  • Leuven: This small city has some of the best nightlife in the country.
  • Try the local cuisine: Belgium is known for having delicious chocolate and great beer.

The small size of Belgium actually works to its advantage in that the events and festivals celebrated in every town and city are easily accessible, no matter where you are in the country. Some of these include the International Documentary Film Festival in May, the Carnival de Binche in February, and Gentse Feesten in July.

Whether you want a villa or condo just steps from all the major attractions and shopping in the city, a spacious apartment with all the comforts of home, or a secluded cabin in one of the more remote areas of the country, there's a vacation rental ready and waiting for you in this charming European country.

Cosy apartment in the heart of Brussels
Perfect for 2

Clean and well located apartment. Excellent for 2 adults. There were stores and restaurants close by and the major sights of Brussels were in walking distance. We enjoyed some local restaurants but would not recommend the Brussels Grill. Bruges and Ghent were especially enjoyable. Thanks Flori!see more
Sunny rooftop apartment in center of Antwerp
Excellent base, great for a small family

We stayed at Els and Gijs's flat in July - was very comfortable. Accommodated me and my husband, our 4 year old and infant as well as visiting grandparents for a few nights. Very centrally located and Gijs even went through the trouble of finding me a bike to borrow! Truly excellent hosts, they also went out of their way to get us a high chair for the baby and generally it was a great experience. The terrace was so nice to sit out and eat on, plenty of room for the kids and close to shops and amenities. We really loved the area as well, cool pop up bars in Borgerhout and handy for station. Only downside was some noise from the lift - didn't bother the kids, as they had a noise machine in their room, but occasionally got me up. Then I put on white noise in our room, and no problem.see more

A Room With A View
Roomy Loft with Priceless Views!

Corine was really an amazing host who's suggestions helped us make the most of our time. The loft has lots of privacy and sleeps many, would be perfect for a group of friends or family. From the back windows you have a beautiful view of the rooftops, steeples and towers of Bruges. We loved the location because it was very quiet, but only a 10 minute walk through old untouristed streets to the center. You must borrow Corine's bikes and ride to Dames also, it's a wonderful ride along the canal.see more
Aplace Antwerp: splendid third floor city flat with a gorgeous view - located in the fashion district area
A beautiful place in the heart of Antwerp!

Karin’s “Aplace” is absolutely beautiful and cozy boutique hotel in the center of Antwerp. The Host, Karin is an amazing, warm and kind person who truly puts her hearts and soul into making her guests feel like at home. The apartment is beautifully furnished with mix of retro and modern style - I was so amazed about all of elegant details. The place is very close to almost everything in Antwerp. I highly recommend!see more

Very nice holiday

We stayed with three people in this flat and we feel that we had a very good deal. The apartement is largely renovated and offers all comfort you need. The beach is at walking distance and a visit to Bruges is easy to organize. The owner is extremely nice and helpful. We had a very nice holiday and therefore we recommend this resort.see more
