“Perfect place to stay in a perfect location”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2020

Fabulous place to stay. Scrupulously clean (lots of extra measures in place due to Covid). Beautifully furnished, well equipped, lots of thoughtful extras and some very tasty welcome goodies too! Only there for 3 nights wish it had been for longer. Will definitely go back. Wonderful location, just 5 minutes walk from the beach and what a beautiful spot to get away from it all. I had pre-booked tickets so we were able to visit Alnwick Gardens which were all decked out in their Halloween Finery and looked lovely despite it being the start of November and a very wild, wet & windy day. I loved Barters books and came away with a bag full of books after enjoying tea & cake in their cafe. Open fires, random seating areas and a mini-train running about above your head - what more could you want? Favourite day out was Bamburgh Castle. Fantastic place to visit. Stunning location. very tasty food in the Clock Tower tea Rooms. Can't wait to go back (in hopefully post covid times). SO much more to see Alnwick Castle, Cragside, Fearne Islands, Holy Island & Lindisfarne Castle, Wallington (lots of National Trust & English Heritage places to visit). The Hardy Museum in Alnwick, Hadrians Wall. Boat trips to see seals and puffins. Lots of wonderful coastline. Museums, parks, gardens. So much to see and do and only 30 miles form the Scottish border!
