Description
The characteristic of this old historic family house with a large hanging garden and fenced swimming pool (6x12) is to be nestled in the middle of a tiny village, San Giovanni d'Asso (Community of Montalcino), in the Siennese countryside: the comfort to be in a village and the privacy of a place hidden at the sight.
This house belongs to our Pasqui family from the beginning of past century : it is one of our PasquiVillas.
The extensive property is u-shaped with a beautiful courtyard in the centre: the building has lots of windows, and extends along the length of the garden. The courtyard offers a 6x12 sqm fenced private pool and breathtaking views of the vast rolling countryside. Flower beds, shrubs, lemon trees in vases and palm trees decorate the formally designed upper part of the garden; the lower part , fenced and closed by 2 gates (for children security), comprises the lawn with the pool located on a large sunny terrace. The garden overlooks the spectacular landscape of the Crete Senesi and faces towards south-east.
A great villa for a large group . The villa is located just in front of the castle in the little village of San Giovanni d’Asso (Community of Montalcino), in the heart of Tuscany. There are some superb places to visit in this area, such as Montalcino and Pienza, and Montepulciano and Siena a little further on. Florence is only about an hour and a half away, if you want to explore this famous city. But don't overlook the simpler delights of the charming walled town of San Quirico d'Orcia, just twenty minutes' from your villa. If you are here between mid-May and the end of October, do take a ride on the "Treno Natura’ from Siena (Sundays only) - this is such a lovely way to see the Sienese countryside: the train passes through the breathtakingly beautiful Val d'Orcia, which is a World Heritage Site.
Villa La Consuma is spread on 2 levels: 4 double bedrooms, 4 twin bedded rooms (in two of them the beds can be joined upon request), 7 complete bathrooms, 2 dining rooms, 2 sitting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a large sunny terrace. The villa, historic house, is wide, beautiful, elegantly furnished, it can comfortably hold a party of 14-16.
Wi Fi, satellite TV, central heating, air conditioning at the mezzanine and first floor, ceiling fans at the ground floor, baby cot and high chair, daily maid service from Monday through Friday, daily pool manteinance, private parking.
In the garden there is a gate that can connect this property to another smaller house of ours La Capanna : it can hold a party of 5 adults + a child up to 12.
A perfect place to relax, visiting old characteristic villages, tasting very special food and wine (we are in the Brunello area). But you can also decide to go walking or with your bycicle (the real Tuscan postcard is here!), or you can be tempted from a trip on a balloon. Truffle hunting with a guide and his dogs (also followed by a truffle tasting) could be a new experience or may be better to relax at one of the various SPA in the area (Rapolano, Bagno Vignoni).
At the house you can have dinners and cooking lessons offered by a good cook.
Upon request a painter ,English speaking, proposes painting lessons for beginners, advanced students and even children A nice souvenir of your holiday!
Do not forget riding a horse or ... to do absolutely nothing enjoying the sweetness of the day, SE NON QUI DOVE? (IF NOT HERE WHERE ?)
