Description
"Ospreys' Rest" is the perfect wine-country getaway, offering the best of all worlds. Nearby some of the world's finest wineries and excellent wine-country restaurants, the house lies at the end of a long private gated road through the woods, a unique location that offers seclusion, quiet, and privacy.
One of the last homes built in the community of Summerhome Park, which itself is located at the end of a county road, Ospreys' Rest has the comfortable feeling of a cabin-in-the-woods, yet provides the advantages of modern conveniences: elegant updated furnishings and amenities, central heating, large decks, stereo sound system, glass-top range, and microwave. The central areas of the house are cooled by ceiling fans, and an air-conditioner is available, when rarely necessary, in the main bed room.
The living room/dining area features floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering views of the woods, and just outside the front entry door a redwood hot tub stands in the center of a towering circle of redwoods.
Two decks are adjacent: the extensive front deck provides ample space for sunbathing, grilling and dining, while the rear deck (off the kitchen/dining area) is perfect for watching the antics of the osprey family (the nest is quite nearby and viewable from the deck), relaxing and reading, dining, or catching the afternoon sun. Hike, bike, swim, read, float or canoe the river, read, sunbathe, soak in the hot tub at your secluded hideaway..or...use it as your base from which to explore the many wonders of the Sonoma County wine country: wine-tasting, road-biking, hot air ballooning, Armstrong Redwoods grove, antiquing, horseback riding, and fine dining.
