This Studio Apartment is finished to a very high standard and has been thoughtfully designed to provide boutique self-catering of a high standard at an affordable price.
The vaulted ceiling and open layout, under floor heating, attention to detail and stunning views of Loch Snizort offer a unique opportunity for an idyllic holiday for one or two people and ideal for a honeymoon. There is no extra charge for heating, bed linen and towels.
The kitchen which is well equipped and the view from the kitchen window should make washing up a pleasure! Eco cleaning products are supplied. A table and dining chairs are located adjacent the kitchen.
Two comfortable swivel chairs are the main feature in the welcoming lounge area and are carefully positioned to make full use of the large picture window giving an expansive, uninterrupted view over Loch Snizort Beag to the Outer Hebrides on the horizon. Various lighting options are provided to aid relaxation.
The King-sized bed with superior mattress and quality bedding await guests at the end of the day to offer the potential of a good night's sleep. A fitted wardrobe with ample storage, bedside cabinets and wall-fitted reading lamps complete the restful effect.
The spacious shower room is particularly striking having a walk-in shower with large rainfall showerhead. Good lighting, large mirror and fine towels complement the look.
There is a small courtyard in front of Studio 1 with a private seating area looking towards the loch.
The bay is home to otters, seals and a variety of seabirds. You can even harvest mussels, cockles and whelks at low tide while exploring the easily accessed pebble and black sand shoreline. Golden and Sea Eagles can be spotted overhead.
A profusion of Orchids and Primroses and an abundance of other wild flowers can be found on the headland and on the croft land around the cottage.
We invite you to unwind in the tranquil setting of Knott, make use of our mature flower filled garden complete with garden furniture.
The following activities can be a feature of your holiday in Knott:
Walking / climbing: a perfect location for mountaineers and walkers / hillwalkers of all abilities From mountains (the Cuillin Range) and hills (Trotternish) to more gentle walks directly from Knott Cottage including an interesting stroll along our mussel strewn foreshore
Fishing can be enjoyed from the headland of our bay, the River Skeabost, various inland lochs and numerous other points around the Island. Fishing trips as well as wild life cruises are available from piers around the island.
Horse Riding and Trekking is on offer within walking distance from Knott .
Golf can be played at the Skeabost and Sconser.
Sea Kayaking, Canoeing, Windsurfing and Archery (with tuition when needed)
Paleontology and Geology: The Isle of Skye is an excellent natural laboratory for observing geological matters and fossils. Skye being one of the richest locations for dinosaurs and fossils in the UK.
For those with an interest in history, Dunvegan Castle with its glorious gardens, St Columba's Isle at the head of the River Snizort , the legend of Bonnie Prince Charlie are among the items of interest.
A wide variety of local arts and crafts can be viewed and purchased in numerous workshops, studios, galleries and shops throughout Skye.
There are regular performances of Theatre, Film, Traditional Music, Ceilidh are held on the Island.
A wide choice of Restaurants and Cafes to suit all budgets, many featuring fresh Isle of Skye produce are available

“Lovely Studio with stunning atmospheric Loch views”
Joyce and Brian’s studio Apartment was perfect for our stay. It was warm and cosy but also light and airy. Views of the Loch from the large picture window were wonderful. Furnishing and bathroom were modern and the bed was extremely comfortable. We loved having access to the Loch where we had the shore to ourselves to seal and bird spot. We also enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden with seating area for breakfast. We could even use home grown herbs for cooking. Joyce was helpful and very welcoming and all Covid rules were strictly observed.

“Brilliant Accommodation”
We booked this apartment for a full weeks stay on the Isle of Skye & it was everything we wanted it to be. The pictures on the booking website don't do enough justice to the wonderful views outside the huge bay window. Yes everything looks compact but it's not with plenty of space to relax & unwind & everything is finished to such a very high standard especially the bathroom & the water pressure in the shower is just amazing. The kitchen is fully fitted with everything you could ever want & everything is provided for you. If it isn't or you've maybe forgotten something then Joyce & Brian, (the wonderful owners) will do anything to help you. They really are the perfect hosts & nothing is too much trouble for them. The gardens are beautiful & so well manicured & maintained & Joyce will happily give you plants & cuttings to take away with you. It is in the perfect location to explore all the island & Portree is no more than an easy 15mins drive. All in all we loved it & would easily recommend staying here, so much so in fact that we want to return next year & wouldn't consider staying anywhere else now.
