Heatherfield Lodge - luxury home, fantatstic views

Portree cottage

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Very well equipped and spacious house in fantastic location” We often visit Skye during October for a combined walking and family holiday. Our ideal is somewhere close to local amenities yet sufficiently remote to enjoy the beautiful countryside and wildlife. Heatherfield Lodge was, by a clear margin, the best house ever! We could walk from the door, enjoy a marvellous view from the front windows and our son loved the games room, big TV and internet for his Xbox. The house is large, very well equipped, warm and comfortable.

“A delightful haven on the beautiful Isle of Skye” This was our fifth family summer holiday to Skye and having had a disappointing cottage last year, we were keen to find a property that was as good as the one we had rented in previous years. The three of us were not disappointed by what we saw when opening the front door. The cottage was everything we could have wanted. It was clean, superbly furnished and had all the things necessary to make a holiday enjoyable. The views from the lounge were amazing. It was lovely to watch the changing scenery and wildlife from the comfort of a warm cottage. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and we liked having the two bathrooms between us. In previous years we have stayed in Broadford, so it was good to have a more central place from which to explore the island. We even managed to visit some new area's this time. The booking process was really efficient and queries were dealt with almost by return. The owners also rang us to check that everything was to our satisfaction, which was a nice touch. Comments in the visitors book were all very complimentary. Overall, a fantastic cottage, lovely hospitality and a great holiday. We will be booking shortly for next year.

“The perfect home” Sitting having breakfast, looking out over the water watching the sea birds dive for fish, scanning our eyes to the field below the cliff edge taking in the wonder of young eaglets finding their wings.Pure magic. Coming home after a day exploring Gods Island to sit round a log fire, cosy, comfortable and then to sink in luxurious beds to arise to more wonders of Skye. All this was made possible by our host, who kept us stocked with logs, kindness and friendship. The best holiday cottage ever and if the owner ever considers selling we would make our home in this lovely cottage

“Beautiful view and lovely apartment” We had a wonderful time in this lovely studio flat. It's perfectly designed for a couple, and all with lots of attention to detail, and high quality facilities. Great hot showers for after walking. And most importantly the most incredible view from bed. Also a great location to be between Portree and Dunvegan. Joyce was very efficient and friendly, and we had a great holiday here.

The Anchorage, Kyleakin, Isle of Skye - right on the water's edge!
This holiday has exceeded our expectations!

The location of this lovely cottage is amazing, right at the water's edge, with beautiful views from every room of the Skye Bridge and Loch Alsh. It was so relaxing in the evening to watch the colours change as the sun went down and to see the wildlife close up during the day and the many different boats and ships sailing by. The cottage is clean, comfortable and the perfect place to come home to at the end of a tiring day's walking and sightseeing. The sunny weather this week has been an unexpected bonus and Kyleakin is the ideal location for visiting Ashaig beach, Elgol with the stunning boat trip to see the seals and Loch Coruisk and the Cuillins, Portree and The Old Man of Storr, Dunvegan and the Fairy Glen. There's so much to see and do here. A week is not enough, so we'll be back! Thank you to Richard for all the useful information you sent us beforehand and for letting us use your lovely Skye home. It's been an unforgettable experience! One small suggestion. A bench in the garden would be a nice touch, so guests could sit out comfortably in the sun, not just on the rocks.see more
Cuan Beag - Shoreline Luxury Retreat
A perfect retreat

Cuan Beag is one of the finest vacation rentals we have stayed in. My whole family fell on love with this place. It was a perfect home base for our first trip to the Isle of Skye with Portree only 15 minutes away and many highlights within an hour yet, the home itself offers so much, we found ourselves returning early in the evening to enjoy dinner and the fantastic views of the loch and wildlife. Very peaceful. The home is new and thoughtfully detailed. We really appreciated the open plan, natural lighting and how views were optimized. The kitchen is well-equipped inclusive of a few unexpected luxuries such as an expresso machine (we were beyond thrilled). Jenny, the owner was an absolute pleasure. She provided great recommendations of sites, activities and restaurants. We will definitely return to this special place.see more
Quality Studio with idyllic views over sea loch
Spectacular View, Great wildlife and total nature, quiet and peaceful

For those of you looking for peace in nature the drive is worth it. Isle of Skye is 5 hrs north of Edinburgh. The drive is inspiring, the mountains and lochs are pleasant . The Studio is just perfect to drop your belongings and ....relax! A welcoming Milky Way, heated floor, full kitchen with oven, Wifi. Morning came and...breathtaking views, every moment a different shade of light gave us different perspectives . Gray Seals about 50, visited every morning. Make sure you bring your binoculars. Portree is a nearby charming village and Dunvegan and its castle are a must. Come and discover!see more
Skyehaven
A wonderful home on the beautiful Isle of Skye

We have been to Scotland and of course the Isle of Skye the 1st time. Taigh na h-aibhne / Skyehaven is a magnificent place to stay. The first we realized was the stunning view from the living room through the huge "glass wall". We loved it to sit there enjoying the marvelous view. This beautiful cottage has everything you could need in a holiday. We found everything in an outstanding standard. We are a small family with a 12 year old boy. He was so keen on the Wi-Fi (which is included!) to chat and play a little bit. The two bathrooms were beautiful very useful. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need but we had not cook a lot since we found a Weber barbecue in the shed. ;-) It works still in rain... (Scottish beef and lamb...hmmm, fabulous) Taigh na h-aibhne is more than just a holiday cottage, actually it is a real home. Margaret Pyper is a very attentive host - we were welcomed with flowers, wine, home-made marmelade and a call in the evening to make sure that everything was fine. We have not find a service like this before. Thank you, Margaret - we had an unforgetable week on Skye! Taigh na h-aibhne is close to Portree (approx. 5 miles) and ideal for exploring the island. We fell in love with this Cottage. We will recommend Taigh na h-aibhne to our family and friends and will return hopefully very soon. @ Margaret: Thank you for all, especially your recommendations (the Ouster Shed, the butcher in Portree, the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh [which was a splendid final of our holiday], etc.) Best wishes, Conny & familysee more

The Hobbit House - Luxury glamping on the Isle of Skye
Beautiful property with stunning views!

Great property - spotlessly clean on our arrival and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It was bright and airy with stunning views from every window - views of the sea to the front and mountains to the side and rear! The location was perfect - a great base for touring round the island and only a 5 min drive from Broadford, with a decent sized Co Op , petrol station, galleries and cares. The hot tub was a bit of a novelty - it was a bit of a faff as we had to wait for it to fill and then heat up with the wood burner, but it was worth the wait and a good holiday treat! Would definitely recommend this property and we hope to be back some day.see more
